Message from Programme DirectorThe OPEM programme presents an innovative approach to education management, coming from a psychological perspective. It aims to equip students with an understanding of
organisational psychology in order to enhance their capacity in educational management, fostering an interdisciplinary learning experience. OPEM presents an interesting context in
which it will operate, with research projects and platforms being
integral to the study. Internationalisation is also a constituent
part of the programme.

The Master of Social Sciences in Organisational
Psychology and Education Management
programme (OPEM) is a one-year full-time or
two-year part-time inter-disciplinary programme,
combining advanced training in education management and organisational psychology with a capstone project based upon students
selected organizations. The OPEM programme
offers students a rich experiential learning environment through interacting with leading
scholars in the education management and
applied psychology fields.

The programme is particularly designed for, but not exclusive to, senior teachers
and principals from the school sector and administrators from tertiary and
higher education institutions. It is formulated to meet the needs of those who
want to acquire in-depth knowledge on organisational psychology as well as
education management and leadership issues. OPEM graduates could follow
a range of careers in education policy and administration in schools, tertiary
institutes, government, NGOs, think tanks, as well as in the field of human
resource management.
Hold a bachelor’s degree with first or second class honours from a
recognised tertiary institution. Equivalent qualifications and experience
may be considered on a case-by-case basis
General Qualifications
An applicant whose degree is from a non-English-medium tertiary institution should obtain a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test) or 213 (computer-based test) or 79 (internet-based test) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a band score of 6.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
Applicants who do not fulfil the above language requirements but have equivalent score in a recognized test, or an equivalent qualification assessment to prove their language proficiency will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
