Events

GnuNify: It is an annual gathering consisting of free and open source software workshops and seminars, hosted by SICSR, Pune and (PLUG) Pune Linux Users Group. Speakers at gnuNify event get established as experts in their area of work and are able to interact with our passionate students in open source giving them a direction and knowledge, which is helpful and needed.

MLH Local Hack Day: SICSR ACM student chapter for the first time had organized a hackathon to pull the best ideas from among the students. It had an overwhelming response from outside SICSR also. It has helped students to have hands-on with their own comfort and bring into the reality their ideas. The judges were satisfied with the outcome of the hackathon.

10xofy Project: MSc. CA students of SICSR were put onto direct development project by the management to have the first- hand experience of development. This was live project where modules were thrown to the students and were mainly of three types :

● Page modules● Entry point modules● Method modules

All these modules were designed by the company using a software called xemble. The positive response from company on the efforts of the students built up confidence in the students, and the positive response from the students made the company return to SICSR with new projects.

Learning School

Learning School is the concept to make students Industry ready. After completion of two semesters students join Learning School under Placement Cell to practice Industry required skills. We have developed a learning platform for the students for the following:

1. Aptitude Tests2. Technical Tests3. Group Discussions4. Interview skills5. Presentations Skills

During the fourth semester (6 Months) students learn from dedicated full time Internship to apply skill sets which they learned in Learning School and all the management and technical subjects with projects in last 3 semesters. This Internship is for getting professional experience in Industry and students get Pre Placement Offer (PPO) after successful completion of Internship.


Program Structure (DS, SD, SS):


Semester 4

▪ Recruiters offer 6 months internship/probation followed by final offer letter.

▪ Students apply their knowledge and skills during the 6 months of internship period in the industry to get professional experience.

Placement Procedure


Placement cell connects with the

Recruiters & sends a corporate response sheet.

Recruiters fill job details in the Sheet &

send it back to placement cell.

Recruitment Date and Time is

finalized.

On the scheduled date recruitment procedure takes

place.

Recruiters provide offer letter to the

selected candidates. Joining date &

acceptance of offer is communicated to

recruiter by placement cell.

Season starts in August and Students can join Full Time from November 2019
