Journal: You have learned about the harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke and discussed other products these chemicals are found in. These chemicals have harmful effects on the respiratory system, as well as other body systems. Despite having this knowledge, approximately 4000 teens will start smoking their first cigarette today. People say knowledge = power, but this does not always appear to be the case. Why do you think this is? What factors influence adolescents to make poor decisions regarding tobacco use?

When we breathe IN Diaphragm moves downward toward the abdomen Rib muscles pull the ribs upward and outward, enlarging the chest cavity and pulling air in through the nose or mouth
