Abstract

The objective of this paper is to describe the seismic network monitoring system using the MultiRouter Tra c Grapher (MRTG) and the related software. MTRG has function monitors Simple NetworkManagement Protocol (SNMP) network devices and gives illustration the tra c amount has througheach interface. The mrtg-ping-probe is a ping probe for MRTG, which implementation to monitor theround trip time (RTT) and packet loss to seismic stations or servers. MRTG outputs function to generategraphs visualizing minimum and maximum RTT or packet loss. The seismic network monitoring sys-tem is developed using such software, and monitors the data tra c of the data acquisition servers andthe IP line situations (i.e. RTT and packet loss) between the data center side and the observation stationside end.
