A Closer Look Hi Parents! Reading: This is the moment they’ve all been waiting for….We’re reading Holes!! This class has been begging me to read this novel since last year Stanley Yelnats, a boy who has bad luck due to a curse placed on his great- great-grandfather, is sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention camp, for a crime he did not commit. Stanley and the other boys at the camp are forced to dig large holes in the dirt every day. Stanley eventually realizes that they are digging these holes because the Warden is searching for something. We will work on Reading skills and strategies and vocabulary as we read. Religion: Our test on The Sacraments of Healing Restore Us. Will be on Wednesday, 5/1 We will attend Adoration on Wednesday afternoon. The 8 th graders are hosting Mass this Friday @ 8:30 am – Everyone is welcome Math: Please check planners daily for important assignments and due dates. In addition to the hope of warmer weather, is the reminder that the end of the school year is approaching FAST.

There are a lot of exciting things for us to learn!! Please remember to check planners for important due dates and check back hear for important news as we round out the year!

Social Studies:In Social Studies this week we will discuss A Young United States, which is Chapter 12 in our unit on A New Nation.

We will take notes and use a foldable to help prepare for our test at the end of the chapter.

Spelling: There are no Spelling words this week as we work with vocabulary in Holes.

English / Writing: Please check planners daily for important English details.

5/1 – ACES Walk @ 10 Students can wear approved St. Joseph gym clothes.
