What going on in the city?

• Countries have adopted a similar camouflage design for their military uniform, the Canadian Government, the Department of National Defense, came up with a modified camouflage pattern.

• They have now developed a digital camouflage pattern which provides more effective camouflage while disrupting digital surveillance equipment.

• The innovative camouflage apparel was first issued to the Canadian Military in 1998.

• More than 4,600 retail stores generate annual sales of $2.6 billion

• Home to more than 550 apparel manufacturers who’s wholesale shipments total nearly $1.4 billion annually

The Green Show

• Is the premiere fashion event exclusively committed to eco-friendly, ethically sound, fair-trade fashion during New York Fashion Week.

• The event will feature a selection of eco-conscious fashion designs to educate on the importance of earth friendly material while entertaining fashion enthusiasts.

• Showcases all things green, the clothes are eco-friendly, the runway lighting, the make up on the models, and the design team will also use recycled, recyclable, and compostable material to create a beautiful and resource conscious show.

• Los Angeles is known for a vibrant yet contemporary style of fashion •California is one of the leaders in eco-friendly textile manufacturing. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) ranked California in their published database.

• Although L.A. does have a niche market in quick-turn fashion-forward merchandising, the market is not large enough to induce employment growth
