High thermal properties are characteristic of thermal sulphide, nitric, silicon waters. These waters are used in Tskhaltubo, Sairme, Nunisi, Borjomi Tbilisi.

HistoryNunisi water has been used for medicinal purposes since the first half of IX century. First it

became possible after the experiments held on animals. According to the legend that David Aghmashenebeli (the King David The Builder) saw

firsthand how his horses, exhausted after ling fights, were cured and revitalised

Borjomi Specifically developed as a spa town by Tsar Nicholas in the

19th century, Borjomi has become far more than this, and today is a focal point for all those drawn to the healthy life. Not only does it offer a wide number of permanently spouting mineral-water springs, it adjoins the large Borjomi National Park with its many well laid out trails, over-night huts and mile upon mile of genuine virgin forest

The resort is situated at 810-850m above the sea level. Set 1000 metres higher up in the clean air of the Lesser Caucasus its magnificent setting and views of the Greater Caucasus were also noted by the Tsar who built a charming narrow gage-railway linking the two resorts. This you can still take today - with its winding journey taking you through deep forest, at one time over a bridge built by Gustave Eiffel (of Eiffel tower fame). Come back and then visit the charming Romanov palace at nearby Likani.

. Tskhaltubo is a spa resort in west-central Georgia. It is famous for its radon-carbonate mineral springs, whose natural temperature of 33-35°C enables the water to be used without preliminary heating. The resort's focus is on balneotherapy for circulatory, nervous, musculo-skeletal, gynaecological and skin diseases, but since the 1970s its repertoire has included “speleotherapy”, in which the cool dust-free environment of local caves is said to benefit pulmonary diseases. Tskhaltubo was especially popular in the Soviet era, attracting around 125,000 visitors a year. Bathhouse 9 features a frieze of Stalin, and visitors can see the private pool where he bathed on his visits.The origin of Tskhaltubo thermal spring is 100-150 thousand years old. The radioactive quality of Tskhaltubo mineral waters were discovered in 1912 by professor Kunts. Many active elements were discovered in Tskhaltubo mineral waters: iodine, bromine, manganese, boron, zinc, strontium, lead, chrome, fluorine, nickel, which are very important for life. Very important are gases: azotes (for 1 liter 18 cubic centimeter with touch of the human skin is covered by blander, which is full of gases) radon, helium and argon.
