“Finally, Happy Spring!”RICK BEANE

MPSTMA President

As we leave winter behind and enter into Spring/Summer the demands on

will be overwhelming. I don’t know about anyone else, but this year has been

CRAZY. We started the spring off with the never ending grip of old man win-

ter which made it almost impossible to get our fields ready and then we had a

few weeks of nice weather and then into the monsoon season. Will it ever

end? I think so. As I peck at the key board I look out my office window and

the sun is out and the birds are singing, I almost forgot what the sun looked

like, so with all that said Happy Spring to all...

Speaking of spring, our MPSTMA Spring Workshop attracted 119 people

to the University of St. Thomas on March 27. I would like to thank all of the

people involved in this event. A successful event doesn’t happen by accident.

It takes planning and involvement of numerous people. Thank you to our

hosts Roger Weinbrenner, CSFM, Bob Reed and the spring workshop commit-

tee for organizing a great program. I’d also like to thank our speakers: Jeff

Anderson, Minnesota Vikings; Brandon Gallagher, Rainbow Treecare Scientific

Advancement; Dave Farson, GameTime, and Peter Whitacre, The Toro

Company. All four gave interesting, informative talks.

Another piece key to the success of conferences and our organization in

general is our vendor involvement, without them it wouldn’t be possible.

From their active membership in the MPSTMA, sponsorship and advertising it

makes our group grow. Our vendors are a great resource for information on

the latest and greatest in their area of expertise. Please review our MPSTMA

Commercial members’ company information in this special “Vendor Issue.”

Regards,

Rick BeaneRick Beane
