Interstate vs. Local Moves
In 2015, over half of all people who requested an estimate for their moving costs (60.6%) were relocating to another state. However, this figure shows a slight decline in interstate moves from 2014 in which 63.5% of people were moving to another state.
Of those who have moved to a new state in 2015, 1 out of 10 have also shipped a vehicle.
Move Sizes
Most people who have moved in 2015 have done small-size moves into 1 and 2 bedroom homes. This trend comes as no surprise as it has remained steady over the last couple of years and most of the population are small-home dwellers.
