Challenges (1)

•Open data exchange still a challenge in many regions (or multiple reasons).•Critical mass of seismologists/geophysics programs an issue in many countries.•Heterogeneous training needs, methodologies, and training providers, not presently well coordinated.

Challenges (2)

•Effective programs require multiple successful components, including:

– Supportive institutions (Universities, Agencies, Governments).– Adequate sustained funding.–A nimble framing strategy that connects multiple goals and opportunities in effective cultural context. –Long-term leadership and professional commitment (and patience).
