Adding Titles & Credits:

• 1) Left Click on Tools• 2) Left Click on Titles and

Credits…• 3) Choose where you

Changing Font & Text Color:

• 1) Left Click on Change the text font and color

• 2) Choose your font and color

• 3) Left Click on Done

• Tip:– Left Double Click on the title

you want to Edit.

Changing Background Color:

• Background Color:– Left Click on change

• 1) Under Show Story Board / Show Timeline, Double click on the Title.

• 2) Left Click on what you want to edit

• 3) Make Corrections and Left Click on Done

Capturing Video:• 1) Connect Camera to computer &

Open MovieMaker• 2) Turn the camera on to Playback

Mode & Left Click on File Capture Video

• 3) Choose capture video from device & Enter a File name

• 4) Choose a place to save your captured video

• 5) Choose Video Setting / Quality• 6) Choose Capture Method• 7) To Begin, Click Start Capture and

to Pause, Click Stop Capture• 8) When done, Click on Finish

Saving Pictures:

• 1) Turn the Camera On• 2) Locate the File with the Picture• 3) Create a Folder• 4) Title the File• 5) Click Save

Saving Audio Files:

• Saving WAVs Audio Files– Right Click on link– Save Target As / Save Link As– Locate Flash Drive– Save in your Period Folder

• Importing Sound:– FileImportLocate File Left Click on Import

Importing Videos / Pictures / Sounds:

• 1) FileImport into Collection…• 2) Locate your Files• 3) Use shift / ctrl to select more than 1 clip• 4) Left Click on Import

Adding Pictures / Audio to Movie:

• 1) From the Collection, Drag the desired object where you want it.

• Tip: Use Shift / Ctrl to drag more than one item down at a time

Resizing Clips:• Trimming Clips:

– Left Click on the Clip– Move the cursor to the end of the Clip /

Picture– Click and Drag the Handles in

• Stretching Clips:– Left Click on the Clip– Move the cursor to the end of the Clip /

Picture– Click and Drag the Handles out

• Splitting Clips:– Left Click on the Clip– Play the clip– Press Ctrl-L where you want to split the clip– Tip: Zoom in and out for Exactness

Moving / Deleting Clips:

• Moving Clips / Pictures:– Left Click and hold on top of the Clip / Picture– Drag the Clip / Picture where you want it to go

• Deleting Clips / Pictures:– Left click on the Clip / Picture you want to delete– Press the Delete Key

Adjusting Volume on a Clip:

• Fade In / Out / Mute:– Left Click on the Video Clip– From the menu bar, Left Click on Clip– Choose Audio– Choose Fade in / Fade Out / Mute

• Adjusting the Volume:– Left Click on the Video Clip– From the menu bar, Left Click on Clip– Choose Audio– Choose Volume...– Adjust and Left Click Ok

Creating Voiceovers:

• 1) Add Graphic and Video Clip• 2) Under Timeline, Click to Expand

Video• 3) Copy Audio Clip from Audio/ Music

& Paste on Audio• 4) Mute Top Video Clip• 5) Shorten the Top Video Clip so that

the Video & Graphic are the same as the Audio you copied

Adding Transitions:• To Create a Fade Transition:

– In Timeline View, drag the bottom half of the Clip / Pics

– A horizonal Blue line should appear• Other Transitions:

– In StoryBoard View, Left Click on CollectionGo up to Transition

– Preview a Transition by Double Clicking on it

– Choose the Transition you want– Drag it down in between the two Clips

Deleting Transitions:

• Right Click on the Transition you want to delete

• Left Click on Delete.

Adding Captions & Title Overlays:

• 1) In Story Timeline, Left Click on the Clip• 2) Left Click on Tools• 3) Left Click on Titles and Credits…• 4) Choose Title on Selected Clip

– News Banner– Flashing– Subtitle– Basic Title– Tickertape

• Tip: Use Copy and Paste to do Multiple Title Overlays

Effect You Want– Ease in / Ease Out– Film Age– Speed up / Slow down– Rotate– Grayscale, Sepia, Posterize, Blur– Zoom in / Zoom out

• 3) Drag it down on top of the Clip / Picture

Importing Sound:

Importing Sound:– FileImportLocate

File Left Click on ImportAdding Sound:– In Timeline, Drag the Audio

Clip to the Audio /Music line

Adding Narration:

• 1) Plug in your microphone• 2) Left Click on

ToolsNarrate Timeline…• 3) If prompted, click Ok• 4) Click on the Clip you want

to narrate• 5) Click Start Narration• 6) Click Stop Narration• 7) Click Save

Saving Your Movie:• 1) FileSave Movie File…• 2) Choose Movie Location

– Desktop– Flashdrive

• 3) Title your Movie and Click Next

• 4) Choose Quality of Movie and Click Next

• 5) Click Finish

Uh ohs:• 1) MovieMaker

freezing• 2) Red X on clips• 3) Text disappears

on a title.• 4) Timing is off when

you add or remove a video or sound clip.

• 5) Unplayable file

• 1) Save often, move slow and avoid excessive clicking

• 2) Left click on the Red X 2x and search for it. Save your work in 1 folder and avoid moving it once you import.

• 3) Choose a basic title for longer text. Split up longer text over several clips.

• 4) Use shift or ctrl to select all the audio files and adjust them once. Do the same thing with title overlays.

• 5) Convert the file to AVI, WAV or WMV using Zamzar.com.
