Movie Discussion Join Toni Hertz in a discussion about the movie “Hidden Figures”, a 2016 American biographical drama film directed by Theodore Melfi and written by Melfi and Allison Schroeder. It is loosely based on the 2016 non-fiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly about black female mathematicians who worked at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) during the Space Race.

Overview - This four-session mini-course highlights the nexus of Jews and Judaism with Christian faith traditions and communities, including Catholicism, mainline Protestantism, and evangelical Christianity. Instructor - Rabbi Mark Diamond is a Professor of Practical Rabbinics at the Academy for Jewish Religion California and a Senior Lecturer in Jewish Studies at Loyola Marymount University, where he teaches courses in interfaith relations and Jewish thought.

Cooking & Baking: Artisan No Knead Bread Rita Silverman Even if you have never made bread before, you can do this! Impress your family & what says comfort more than the aroma of fresh baked bread wafting throughout your home!

Equipment Ingredients large glass bowl 3 cups all-purpose flour wooden spoon 1½ tsp kosher salt dutch oven (cast iron, enamel, or heavy pot with lid) ½ tsp active dry yeast measuring cup ⅓ cup grated parmesan cheese measuring spoons 1½ cups room temperature water plastic wrap 1 Tbsp minced fresh rosemary 1. In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, yeast, cheese and rosemary. Pour in water, use a wooden

spoon to combine. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and let sit on your counter for 12-18 hrs. (I’ve even done up to 24 hrs.)

2. When ready to bake your bread, preheat oven to 450 F degrees. Add dutch oven (with lid on) to the oven, so it preheats along with the oven itself

3. Flour your hands, counter/cutting board and sprinkle some flour over the top of the dough itself. Remove dough and shape it into a rough ball shape. Drop ball of dough into the preheated pot, cover with lid and return to the oven

4. Bake with lid on, 30 minutes, then remove lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown & crusty.
