Tin materials suitable for high temperature bearingsGraphite Metallizing Corporation

has developed a new range of tin

based babbitt Graphalloy materials

for high temperature bearing appli-

cations up to 350˚F (175˚C). The

materials are available in NSF certi-

are FDA accepted. They are suitable

for use as self-lubricating bearings

in submerged and dry applications.

Graphalloy (graphite/metal alloy)

tin based babbitt is environmen-

tally safe to machine and use, and

eliminates the need for grease or

and maintenance.

tion says that the materials could

replace plastics because they

offer improved heat dissipation

and will not melt or cold flow.

(-400˚F/-205˚C), the bearings can

help solve lubrication problems

caused by the viscosity of grease

Mouvex exhibits SLC series at food event

Mouvex will be exhibiting its SLC

series of eccentric disc pumps

at the Institute of Food Tech-

nologists (IFT) Annual Meeting

& Food Expo 2011, which takes

place from 11-14 June 2011, in

New Orleans, USA.

The pump range is suitable

for fluid-handling applications

within the food processing

industry, where it can deliver

improved volumetric efficien-

cies. The SLC-Series pumps can

handle thin, abrasive, aggressive

and higher viscosity fluids. They

have a seal-less construction,

low shear and agitation of the

pumped product, the capability

of handling solids and abrasives,

self-priming, line strippin, and

the ability to run dry. SLC-Series

pumps also feature CIP cleaning,

SIP sterilization, and include

versions with both 3A and

EHEDG certifications.

Mouvex says that eccentric eisc

pump technology is becoming

known in food applications as

the “problem solver” through its

delivering the performance of

traditional positive displacement

pumps, while creating a constant

flow that is independent of both

pressure and viscosity.
