Motion lnterface Operator Interface Panels

Simple ConfigurationThe MI-700 series operator interface panels are

configured with easy to use WindowsTM configurationsoftwarc. This software uses an "object oriented"structure which offers quick and simple setup with nopro grun mi rt g requirecl !

The sofiware displays an image of how theoperator panel will appear during operation alongwith a menu and tool bars containing the differentobject types. The user simply drags an object onto thescreen image in the desired location. Double-clickingon the object brings up a dialog box containing objectrelated parameters.

Graphical display of machine parametersMotion Interface products feature full VGA color

or gray scale displays. The pre-defined objects allowfor graphical display of machine information usingbar graphs and simple animation.

Powerful drawing tools can be used to create acolorful drawing of a machine. A user can thendisplay machine parameters on top of the machinedrawing. Indicator lights can be made to flash orchange color when the machine in running, holding,etc. They can even be placed on top of the drawing inlocations that relate to actual machine functionalareas.

Intuitive touch-screen operator interfaceConfusing operator interfaces and

setup screens are a thing of the past. Theuse of pre-defined objects and touch-screentechnology make this new generation ofoperator interfaces easy for anyone to use.A user simply touches the item to modifyand a keypad or momentary button willrpperr. Jumping between screens is a onetouch operation.

Motion I nterface Display CharacteristicsFast, secure communications

The MI-700 series products will communicate with anyEMERSON Motion Control product that is Modbuscompatible, such as the AXIMAMtiti-Axis Controller orE Series Digital Servo Drives. EMERSON MotionControl products support an extended version of theModbus protocol which allows the transmission of 32-bitvalues for greater precision.

Communicating via Modbus ensures secure datatransmission at rates up to 19,200 baud between theMotion Interface panel and the EMERSON MotionControl product. Word variables such as axis position andvelocity commands as well as individual bits controllingoutputs can be read and modified by the Motion Interfacepanel.

Easy interface with EMERSON Motion Controlproducts

The AXlMAMr;Jti-Axis Motion Controller is designedto be easily connected to the Motion Interface family ofoperator interface products.

The AXIMA setup software makes Modbus addressassignment easy. AXIMA software provides assistedreq!$clasli€Ilnc!! so no programming is required to setup the desired registers. It's as simple as selecting avariable and assigning it to a Modbus address. It evenrecommends the next available address. This eliminates theneed to maintain a list of which addresses are used andwhich are available, thus preventing assignment conflictsand streamlining the integration effort. Extensive onlinenetwork diagnostics are also provided to monitor networkfunctions.

E Series Digital Servo Drives use Modbus as theirstandard communication protocol. Therefore everyparameter in the drive is available to the Motion Interfacenanel.

s impl i fy panel wi r ing by e l iminat ingthe need for most bardwired push-buttons. In the short run this savesmoney by lowering wiring costs. In thelong run it makes changing a machine'soperator interface much easier and lessexpensrve.

There is no longer a need to buy alarger cabinet to add just one morecontrol button. Simply add any new interface items usingthe Windows configuration software and download thenew setup to the Motion Interface hardware. This alsosaves time because the entire process of editing anddownloading can be accomplished in 15 minutes or less.
