I guess the name really doessay it all, but heres the back

story...I have had more than myfair share of loss by mothover the years. Every time ithappens my heart feels alittle more heavy. How do those wingedmonsters know which knit inmy closet is my latestfavourite woolly to wear?!?!

What I want for this seasonis an easy as pie, super soft, wonderfully warm, top downraglan with the simplest of

details that weighs abouttwo feathers. The kicker? Illbe adding somereal/simulated moth activityas I knit! Hey, if you cantbeat em ... join em!

Ive kept the design verysimple so that my increasingcollection of scarves andwraps will not be fighting forattention when I layer themon. The nice, open necklinehas a very simple thick ridgepattern achieved by

alternating double rounds ofknit and purl. Neither thebody nor sleeves have anyshaping. All hems end with around of reverse stockinettestitch before loosely bindingoff. The moth activity (aka-simple yarn over eyelets)can be found only on thesleeves-- starting with smallnibbles at the top andworking with increasedhunger down to the braceletlength wrist.

ericos yarns are one of the most thrilling. Their thick and thin spun Winter Flamme offers the perfectbination of lightness and coverage when working with larger than labelled needles. This yarn blocksa dream but I chose to let the edges of my version lightly roll for a casual and relaxed look. I know Ibe stuffing this into my bag on those occasions when I am uncertain as to how chilly

be when out and about. It can be quickly pulled out, flicked open and tossed on.

be next summer when those moths are up to their mischief theyll see the damage on theves... consider it leftovers... and move on. Fingers crossed...
