As part of Mrs Sharon Cases world recognised, Australia achieved, Teaching Fellowship Award, Sharon has parcipated in numerous interviews, group chats and Naonwide educaon forums. The most recent being her Zoom meeng with the Honourable Mr Dan Teh- an- Federal Minister for the current Australian Government. This is the highest recognion, acknowledgement and compliment that an educator/teacher can receive, and it demonstrates the high level of skill, knowledge and experse that Mrs Case brings to our school community and the broader educaon community. Coupled with her brain smartis her heart smartwhich is the compassion, empa- thy and relaonship driven ways of working. I would like to take this opportunity to personally and publicly acknowledge Mrs Cases commitment to every student, staff and family member that she has worked for and with over the last 32 years of her teaching career. Congratulaons Mrs Case on meeng the Federal Minister and thanks for what you bring and do for our school and school community. Absolute GOLD and WORLD CLASS. At last weeks assembly we had a visit from council officers, Ada and Alex, the mayor, Michael Kerr, and GBR Legacy member, Dr Dean Miller along with author, Caitlin ONeil who presented her childrens book about protecng the reef to our Prep to Year 4 students. All staff were sent a digital book to share with older students. This is a beauful resource with a wonderful mes- sage for our young people about caring for our reef and waterways. Today was a very successful, though slightly damp Cross Country – we always love seeing our students parcipang in events like this with such wonderful teamsmanship, sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Congratulaons to Kadar who were the overall winners of today s event. Some of our Year 3-6 students will be parcipang in the Cluster Gala Day tomorrow. Mossman State School News We enrol families, as well as students.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians, the Kuku Yalanji people, of the land on which our school stands and pay respects to the Elders, past, present and emerging.

Yalada Parents and Carers, How times fly when you are having fun! It is hard to believe that we are 3/4's of the way through the 2020 school year with our Year 6’s

only having 10 weeks (Term 4) left of their primary school years. Our year 6’s have a very busy, industrious and exciting Term 4 with lots

happening including their Year 6 camp in week 6, Quicksilver Low Isles trip on 20 November, High School Transition Day on Tuesday 1

December, Graduation on the evening of Tuesday 1 December (COVID dependent), Concert Night on 8 December and Break-up day on

Friday 11 December. WOW, what a busy schedule.

As part of Mrs Sharon Case’s world recognised, Australia achieved, Teaching Fellowship Award, Sharon has participated in numerous

interviews, group chats and Nationwide education forums. The most recent being her Zoom meeting with the Honourable Mr Dan Teh-

an- Federal Minister for the current Australian Government. This is the highest recognition, acknowledgement and compliment that an

educator/teacher can receive, and it demonstrates the high level of skill, knowledge and expertise that Mrs Case brings to our school

community and the broader education community. Coupled with her ‘brain smart’ is her ‘heart smart’ which is the compassion, empa-

thy and relationship driven ways of working. I would like to take this opportunity to personally and publicly acknowledge Mrs Case’s

commitment to every student, staff and family member that she has worked for and with over the last 32 years of her teaching career.

She is, without doubt, the best educator that I have had the pleasure to work with and along side and the best I have ever seen.

Congratulations Mrs Case on meeting the Federal Minister and thanks for what you bring and

do for our school and school community. Absolute GOLD and WORLD CLASS.

At last week’s assembly we had a visit from council officers, Ada and Alex, the mayor, Michael Kerr, and GBR Legacy member, Dr Dean Miller along with author, Caitlin O’Neil who presented her children’s book about protecting the reef to our Prep to Year 4 students. All staff were sent a digital book to share with older students. This is a beautiful resource with a wonderful mes-sage for our young people about caring for our reef and waterways. Today was a very successful, though slightly damp Cross Country – we always love seeing our

students participating in events like this with such wonderful teamsmanship, sportsmanship

and enthusiasm. Congratulations to Kadar who were the overall winners of today’s event.

Some of our Year 3-6 students will be participating in the Cluster Gala Day tomorrow. There will be some of our Year 3/4 students par-

ticipating in soccer or tennis at the high school and another group of our Year 5/6 students participating in the T20 cricket blast at the

showgrounds.

Next term proves to be a very busy one. On Friday of Week 1, Mr McLeod, Miss Prete and Miss Abby will be escorting our infant, junior

and senior ball games teams to Miallo State School to participate in the Cluster Ball Games morning. Our students have been training

this week and will continue in the first week back. Term 3 has certainly been a very busy term for sporting events! Thanks to Miss Prete,

Mr McLeod and Miss Abby for helping our students to prepare for this event in a very short amount of time.

Also next term, we will be running our Learn to Swim program in Weeks 3 and 4. Further information about our swimming program will

be sent out early next term. Mr Jake will be teaching swimming as part of our Health and Physical Education program over the two

week period. The program will culminate in our interhouse swimming carnival on Friday, 30th October and the district swimming carni-

val on Friday, 27th November.

At this stage I will be taking leave in the first 4 weeks of Term 4, 2020 so that our family can transition my mum from hospital back to

her home. Sharon Case is committed to taking on the Acting Principal's role in my absence. I thank Sharon for ‘stepping up’ and contin-

uing to ‘Lead’ in these uncertain times. Sharon will bring consistency, continuity and commitment to our school ensuring a smooth and

seamless transition. I would also like to thank the students, staff and family members for their amazing support of myself and my family

in these unnerving, emotional and life changing times. For that, I thank you.

Yours in Education,
