Moscow is the capital and the largest city of Russia with nearly 12 million residents within the city limits and

nearly 17 million within the urban area. 

 Moscow is a major political, economic, cultural, and scientific center in Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as the largest

city on the European continent.

Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megacity and metropolis on Earth.

Moscow is situated on the Moskva River in the Central Federal District of European Russia.

With over 40 percent of its territory covered by greenery, it is one of the greenest capitals and major cities in Europe and the world, having the largest

forest in an urban area. 

The most fascinating part of the city is the Kremlin.Many tourists from all over the world come to Moscow

to see it.the Moscow Kremlin was a medieval city-fortress and

today it is the residence of the Russian president.

One of the most notable art museums in Moscow is the Tretyakov Gallery, which was founded by Pavel Tretyakov.

The works of famous pre-Revolutionary painters, such as Ilya Repin, as well as the works of early Russian icon painters can be found here.

Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, The State Historical Museum of Russia , The Polytechnical Museum, founded in 1872 is the largest technical museum in Russia, The Borodino

Panorama museum are the most interesting museums of Moscow.

Many people are greatly impressed by  the Bolshoi Theatre, the Malyi Theatre as well as Vakhtangov Theatre and Moscow Art Theatre.

Moscow is also home to many people who have become famous in various branches of culture, science, sports, etc. For many others not born in Moscow, the city is also a place for realizing their ideas, business and political careers.
