Bacteria are 0.2 to 2 μm in diameter and 1-6
μm in length.
(Singular is coccus; meaning berry)

(Singular = spirillum): Spirilla are the bacteria that appear snake like.
One of the strangest scenes I have ever seen. Looking out the window as we approached SF airport about 1971. Feels like you are going to land in the ocean. Because of the way you fly low over the water for a long time to land there. Hassleblad, full frame 70mm. It's really bacteria.
