2. Sew the two sashing pieces together to make the sashing units. Make 24.3.The blocks and sashings are sewn into rows. There are two row arrangements. Odd numbered rows are arranged as follows: Sashing Unit, Block Two, Sashing Unit, Block One, Sashing Unit, Black Two and Sashing Unit, Block One. Even numbered rows are arranged as follows: Block One, Sashing Unit, Block Two, Sashing Unit, Block One, Sashing Unit, Block Two, Sashing Unit. Refer to the block diagrams to arrange the direction of the blocks as shown in each row. (I used the light stripe fabric E as a reference in arranging the direction of the blocks.)

4. Sew the rows together, alternating odd and even numbered rows.5. Sew the 60-1/2” long fabric I borders to opposite sides of the quilt top. Sew the 62-1/2” long fabric I borders to the top and bottom of the quilt.6. Sew the 62-1/2” long fabric H borders to opposite sides of the quilt top. Sew the 68-1/2” long fabric H borders to the top and bottom of the quilt.7. Fold each of the fabric E border strips in half end to end to determine the center and press the fold line. Pin the center of the border strip to one side of the center of the quilt and continue pinning in place to each outside edge. There will be an approximate 6” overlap at each end. Sew the border strip in place. Repeat for remaining 3 border strips. Miter each corner and trim away excess fabric.

Finishing:1. Layer the quilt top, batting and backing. Baste the layers together. Quilt by hand or machine.2. Sew the binding strips together end to end. Press in half lengthwise. Pin the raw edges of binding to the raw edges of the top of the quilt. Sew in place. Turn folded edge to back and sew in place.

Sewing:Note: All seams are 1/4”. Press all seams as you sew.1. Sew the Log Cabin blocks start-ing with the center square and sewing the strips in place around the center to the outside edges. Follow the fabric arrangement as shown in the block diagrams. There are two different block arrangements. Make 12 Block One (6 blocks with fabric A centers and 6 blocks with fabric C centers). Make12 Blocks Two. The block diagrams give the place-ment of the fabrics by letter in each of the two block arrangements.
