SUN, EARTH, and MOON

Page 2: moon Atmosphere/Erosion: the Moon has a very thin atmosphere but has no weather, wind, and running water to cause erosion and this causes extreme temperatures

moon• Atmosphere/Erosion: the Moon has a very thin

atmosphere but has no weather, wind, and running water to cause erosion and this causes extreme temperatures because of the no atmosphere asteroids and meteorites hit the Moon and cause craters

• Water :the Moon has about 600 metric tons of frozen water inside 40 craters

• Landforms : on the Moon there are a bunch of different landforms like craters , mountains, hills, open planes, and much more

MOON

• Orbit: takes 29.5 days to revolve around the Earth

• Rotate on axis: takes 27.32 days to rotate on the Moon’s axis that’s why we see the phases

• Tides: the Moon cause tides on Earths oceans• Gravity: the Moon has approximately 1.622g

of gravity• Size: the size of the Moon is 2,159 mi or

3,476 km in diameter

Page 4: moon Atmosphere/Erosion: the Moon has a very thin atmosphere but has no weather, wind, and running water to cause erosion and this causes extreme temperatures

EARTH

• Water: the Earth is 70% water and has high and low tides

• Atmosphere: the Earth has a very thick atmosphere which traps heat to keep Earth warm and does not make Earth over heated

• Landforms: much like the Moon the Earth has craters but not as many as the Moon, Earth has many hills, mountains, canons, open planes ,and much more

• Erosion: erosion is caused by wind , rivers, plate movement , volcanos , and much more

Page 5: moon Atmosphere/Erosion: the Moon has a very thin atmosphere but has no weather, wind, and running water to cause erosion and this causes extreme temperatures

EARTH

• Gravity: THE EARTH HAS APPROXIMATELY 9.780 M/S2 of gravity

• Orbit: the earth’s orbit around the sun is 365 days

• Rotate on axis : one full rotation is 24 hours

• Seasons: the seasons are caused be the tilt of earth

• Size: The size of the Earth is 7,900 mi or 12,720 km in diameter

Page 6: moon Atmosphere/Erosion: the Moon has a very thin atmosphere but has no weather, wind, and running water to cause erosion and this causes extreme temperatures

SUN

• MADE OF: Most of this gas is hydrogen (about 70%) and helium (about 28%). Carbon, nitrogen and oxygen make up 1.5% and the 0.5% is made up of many other stuff such as neon, iron, silicon, magnesium, and sulfur

• GRAVITY: the Sun has approximately 27.94 g of gravity

• ROATATE ON AXIS: the time it takes for the Sun to rotate on its axis is 27 days

• ORBIT: it takes the Sun 226 million years to completely orbit around the center of the Milky Way

SUN• At the sun's core temperatures of up to 27 million degrees

Fahrenheit • SUN SPOTS: a cooler or the darker regions on the sun

where the magnetic field loops up out on the solar surface • SOLAR WIND: comic rays • SOLAR FLAER: violent eruptions of gas on the Suns surface • EFFECTS ON EARTH: the Sun warms up our plant• Size: the sizes of the Sun is 1,392,684 km or 865,374 mi in

diameter
