3. Instructor Biographies

Ayman Muhaisen

Ayman is an experienced banker and trainer who has recently joined our team in the Dubai office. Prior to joining Moody’s he spent four years as a faculty member of the Institute of Banking in Saudi Arabia. There he delivered courses in many topics including, but not limited to, Credit Risk Analysis, Project Finance, SME finance and Credit Scoring, Credit Ratings, Financial analysis and Introduction to Basel.

He was also involved in:

Before beginning his career in training, Ayman worked in a number of banks, holding various roles mostly in credit departments. He was responsible for managing portfolios of accounts and performing the due diligence and evaluation of direct deals.

Other duties included the collection and analysis of financial data, feasibility studies, market research and field surveys. He was involved in corporate advisory and related transactions, monitoring of clients risk exposure and preparing annual plans and budgets. Ayman also managed a team of credit officers, reviewing accounts, budgeting for the team and coaching the team officers.

Ayman holds a Masters degree in International Relations. He is fluent in Arabic and English.

Tassos Philippakos

Tassos has been delivering Investment Analysis, Financial Management, Corporate Strategy and Credit Rating Analysis training since 1982.

Tassos started his Investment Banking/Banking analytical career in the mid 1970’s with Merrill Lynch in New York. This was followed by several moves with a variety of international banking and investment organizations as well as with Moody’s Investors for 22 years with global coverage on several industries and as Enhanced Senior Vice President of Moody’s, was empowered to serve as Chairman of rating committees for companies’ ratings.

While at Moody’s Tassos was Ranked “All American Fixed-Income Analyst”, five years in a row by The Institutional Investor magazine (August 1994, 1995, 1996, September 1997, and November 1998).

Tassos also served for eight years as CEO of a European company with clientele in the United States, Europe, Middle East and Africa and worked closely with companies and Governments.

Tassos has delivered several times on our behalf the course of Credit Rating Analysis.

In addition, Tassos has lectured Investment Analysis at City university of New York (Hunter College), Financial Management at ALBA in Greece at Graduate level, and Corporate Strategy at St. John’s University in New York.

Kristin Yeatman

Kristin brings over 20 years of banking and lecturing experience to Moody’s Analytics. With an emphasis on leveraged, structured and corporate finance, she has covered debt capital markets in the EMEA, US and Canada.

Kristin joined Moody’s in 2011 from BlackRock Solutions where she was a Consultant providing expected loss opinions on distressed corporate, project and tax-driven debt to sovereign clients. Prior to BlackRock, she held Director level positions at Bank of Scotland, where she headed a buy-side acquisition finance team & investigated work-outs, and at Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”), where she marketed, originated and executed structured finance transactions and managed a portfolio of investment grade loans. Earlier in her banking career, at Sumitomo Bank, she managed a portfolio of Broker/Dealers, Fund Managers, and Oil &Gas companies. This followed on from analyst positions for Non-Bank Financial Institutions and for an insolvent Commercial Property portfolio at RBC.

Prior to joining RBC in 1993, Kristin worked for several years as Business Development Manager for a marine engineering company and during her studies she interned with a private equity house.

Kristin has an M.B.A. in Finance from St. Mary’s University in Canada and a B.A. in English and Music from the University of Western Ontario.

Maurice Skehan

Maurice Skehan joined Moody’s in 2005 and specialises in the development and delivery of our Credit Risk seminars covering sovereign and country risk, banks and non-bank financial institutions.

Prior to joining the company, Maurice provided consultancy services to financial institutions and trade associations on risk management and regulatory issues.

Since joining Moody’s, Maurice has designed and delivered in-house training programmes covering sovereign and advanced bank risk analysis for many of the world’s largest global financial institutions; G20 regulators and central banks; and many of the supranational financial bodies.

Maurice’s background includes almost thirty years in internationally active commercial, merchant and investment banks and he has worked in French, German, Japanese and UK institutions, where he held positions with responsibility for credit and operational risk management. Latterly, he spent four years as Director, Risk Management for the private equity subsidiary of one of Japan’s largest securities firms.

Maurice has an MSc with Distinction in Financial Services Regulation from London Guildhall University, where he was winner of the Securities Institute prize. He is also a Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
