Fall 2013 - Winter 2014 lookbook

I don’t know about you,but I am ready to say goodbye to the sweaty, searing hot summer days (I live in Kamloops), and hello to the early evenings snuggled up with my family in a lamp lit room, under cable knit throws enjoying a glass of my husband’s amazingly crafted Malbec.

The fall season, for me, is a time to regroup, refocus, and get back into the comfort of routines. But, while routines and hot cocoa may be comforting, our main source of comfort comes from our surroundings – and of course, those in it.

Shelter is a necessary element of survival, down filled pillows are not; though feathering our nests can make a huge difference when it comes to how we feel in our homes. We all desire a personal sanctuary where we can let down our guard and be free to express our personalities, no matter how quirky. To me, bright colors and bold prints are like Prozac, they make me feel great, and hence, my house is filled with them! I began designing lively and expressive lighting and throw pillows to fill a gap in the market for these types of home accessories.

This season I have mixed inspiration from the fashion runways and my favourite midcentury design books to create these bold color collections from my Fall / Winter 2013-14 line up. All of my fabrics can be used for making lamp shades, pendant lamps, swags and throw pillows and are easy to mix and match!
