What is a MOOC? MOOC STANDTS FOR :

C-COURSES A massive open online course (MOOC) is a free Web-based distance

learning program that is designed for the participation of large numbers of geographically dispersed students.

A MOOC may be patterned on a college or university course or may be less structured. Although MOOCs don't always offer academic credits, they provide education that may enable certification, employment or further studies.

Stephen Downs develop a theory of

connectivism

In 2008 the first MOOC was presented at the university of Manitoba, with 2200 students.

In 2010 Daved Carmer loads videos about MOOCs on youtube

(Cormier, 2010)

In 2011 moocs for college prep

skills helps freshmen for

college requirements

(Cormier, 2011 ).

In 2012 courser launched a form Standford, offer first xMOOCs (Chen, 2012).

In 2013 cMOOCs and xMOOCSs

too numerous to count accuratly

You can use your own devices.

DISADVANTAGES Feeling of confussion

Technology can distract you from learning or focusing on the content.

It requires time and effort.
