The dream was to make basketball a fan favorite in Tiger Country and to make it a nationally respected program as well. Dale Brown’s straightforward, determined approach, combined with his knowledge of the game, excellent recruiting skills, and his positive philosophy made his dream a reality. Equally amazing was his 25-year career as the Tiger’s head coach and winningest coach in LSU BB history. He also has the 2nd most wins in SEC history. 104/160 of Brown’s players received their college degrees and those that attended LSU for four years had a graduation rate of 84%. Coach Brown assisted at Utah State for five years and one year at WSU before becoming the head coach at LSU in 1972. Brown coached basketball for 44 years and now is a motivation speaker and author. General session topics will be “Getting over the 4 Major Hurdles of Life” and “The 7 Basic Essentials of Coaching” followed by a basketball session on “Freak Defense” Jeff Smith Golf Jeff Smith, the Director of Golf at Weber State University, is in his 24th season as the head coach of the Wildcat women's golf team. As Director of Golf, Smith over- sees both the men's and women's programs. Smith led the women's team to their first ever Big Sky championship in 2001. He also coached Wildcat teams to five consecutive second place finishes in the Big Sky from 1995 to 2000. He also won back- to-back Big Sky Coach of the Year awards in 1999 and 2000. Smith is a native of Ogden, Utah and graduated from Weber State in 1980. For 22 years Smith served as Golf Pro at two different Utah courses. He was named the Utah PGA Teacher of the Year in 1989 and was a recipient of the 1996 PGA Junior Golf Leader Award. Spencer Wood Motivation, S&C For the past 12 years Spencer Wood has traveled the globe as an author, teacher and speaker on Mental Skills & Toughness Train- ing, as well as explosive Speed, Quickness and Agility Training. He has spoken at 3 Nike Football COY Awards Clinics, 5 NCAA Basketball Final Fours (NABC and WBCA), 3 National Soccer Coaches Con- ventions, the American Baseball Coaches Association Convention, and the National Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association Convention. He has also presented at multiple state-wide clinics. Spencer has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from California University and a PhD in psychology with an emphasis in sport psychol- ogy. His workshops with champi- onship teams at the US Olympic Training Center, in professional leagues such as the NBA, and with teams from major sports in the Big East, Big Ten, ACC, PAC Twelve, Big Twelve, and SEC Conferences have garnered international media coverage on networks such as NBC and ESPN. Robby Sortore Cheer & Dance Robby is in his 4th year as the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Northwest State Director & Varsity All Star Advisor and was previously an 8 year UCA Head Instructor. At UCA Sortore has the opportunity to learn the most innovative new techniques and ideas in safety, stunting, pyramids, jumps, Game Day, etc. and help implement them to squads across the Northwest. Currently Robby is the coach & choreographer for the nationally ranked Mount Si High School who just came off of a clean sweep at the Washington State Cheerleading Championship (3 teams – 3 State titles). Sortore started his career as captain of his high school cheer squad and then went on to cheer for the University of Washington. He has worked with numerous All-Star and Championship cheer squads. Robby is more than excited to be a part of the MCA Clinic, sharing his knowledge with MT coaches. Boo Schexnayder T&F- Jumps Irving “Boo” Schexnayder is a 34 year veteran coach at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. He is regarded, internation- ally, as one of the leading authorities in T&F coaching, training design, speed and power development, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. Most noted for the 12 years he spent at LSU, he is regarded as one of the world’s premier field event coaches, having coached 19 NCAA Champions during his collegiate coaching career. He was a part of 12 NCAA Championship teams and a pair of Juco National titles, as well as developing a host of conference champions and All- Americans. Schexnayder coached Walter Davis to multiple World Championships, John Moffitt to a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics, and has mentored 10 Olympians. He served on coaching staff for Team USA 2003 Pan Am Games, the 2006 World Junior Championships, and the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He has also been a speed specialist, working in NFL player development for nearly 20 years Dennis Janzen Volleyball Dennis Janzen holds a Ph.D.in the Psychology of Sport and is the former women’s HVB coach at Fresno Pacific University. Janzen was the winningest women’s coach in college volleyball from 2001-10 with a 373-18 w/l record. With a career w/l of 867-168, Janzen’s team’s also attained win streaks of 121 consecutive home-court victo- ries and 91 straight regular season wins. A 6x national champion and 4x national COY, Janzen’s teams had an NAIA record 20 national tourna- ment appearances and appeared for 184 consecutive weeks in the NAIA national “top five” poll including 43 straight weeks ranked #1 nationally. This fall Janzen will be an assistant at Trinity Western. Topics: “Mental Toughness and Crunch Time Win- ning”, “Being Your Best When Your Best is Needed”, “ Winning the Serve and Pass Game”, “Who Wins the Hitter vs Blocker Battle?”, “My Favorite Serving, Receiving and Attacking Drills” Kevin Peoples Football A Butte native and Carroll Col- lege alumni, Coach Peoples is the current defensive line mentor for the Georgia Southern University Eagles. Peoples spent the 2013 season as defensive line coach for UAB after three seasons at Arkan- sas, serving as the Razorbacks’ defensive tackles coach. Under Peoples’ direction, the 2012 Arkansas defensive line earned a top-25 national ranking in sacks and the Razorbacks boasted a rushing defense that finished in the top 20. The Razorbacks posted consecutive 10-win seasons for just the third time in school history and made back-to-back BCS bowl appearances in 2010 (Sugar Bowl) and 2011 (Cotton Bowl). The 2011 squad capped its 11-2 season with a No. 5 national ranking following a 29-16 victory over Kansas State. In 2003, he was selected from 500 coaches as one of the recipients of the AFLAC National Assistant COY Award. David Fiefia Football David Fiefia is in his first year with Idaho State’s football program as the Running Backs/Tight Ends coach. For the past three seasons (2012-2014) he served as an of- fensive graduate assistant coach at Utah State. In his role, Fiefia assisted the offensive coaches with daily football operations, working primarily with the Aggie running backs and wide receivers. In those three years (30-11) USU played and won back-to-back-to-back bowl games for the first time in school history and won just its 4th bowl game ever during the 2014 season. Under Coach Mick Dennehy at Utah State, Fiefia was a four-year letter winner at running back from 2000-03, earning first-team all-Sun Belt Conference honors as an all- purpose player in 2003, while also earning second-team all-Sun Belt accolades as both a running back and kick returner that same season. David will speak on “Leader- ship: Coaching & Recruiting the whole player” and “Running Backs: Assignment, Alignment, Technique & Finish”. Mario Andaya Volleyball After a return to the NCAA Division II postseason for the third consecutive season, Mario Andaya is hoping for an encore performance from his Wildcats in 2015, his 20th- season at the helm of the Central Washington Volleyball Program. Andaya, who began his head coaching career with the Wildcats at the tender age of 24 prior to the 1996 season, is now the Dean of Great Northwest Athletic Confer- ence coaches. Having spent more than one-third of his life as Central’s volleyball mentor, Andaya, 42, has taken the Wildcats’ program from a 5-23 record in its first year as a NCAA Division II member (1998) and turned it into a perennial con- tender in both the Great Northwest Athletic Conference and the West Region. Andaya is also the school’s all-time leader for career coaching victories, with 300. He has taken the program to the NCAA tourna- ment 6 times. Troy Steiner Wrestling Troy just completed his 9th season at Oregon State where he assisted Jim Zalesky (20006-12) before being promoted to associate head coach for the 2012-13 season. Prior to Oregon, Steiner was on Zalesky's coaching staff at Iowa, and he also assisted former head coach Joe Wells at Oregon State. Steiner was a four-time All- American at Iowa from 1990-93 and a NCAA champion in 1992. He won three Big Ten titles at Iowa, compiling a 148-13 career record at 134 and 142 pounds. He and his twin brother, Terry, were part of three national and four Big Ten championship teams. Steiner shares Iowa's school record for best season winning percentage for the 42-0 record he compiled during his junior season. He also ranks 3rd in career wins (148) and 6th in season wins (42) in the Hawkeyes' illustri- ous wrestling history. In post-collegiate competition, Troy was a nine-time U.S. National team member, winning the ‘92 World Cup and the ‘96 Pan-American Games. He placed 3rd at the U.S. Olympic Trials in ‘92 and ‘96, and fifth in 2000. Mark Amaral Basketball A veteran coach, who is well respected on the West Coast, Mark Amaral is in his fourth season as the associate head coach for the Pepperdine Men’s Basketball Program. Mark began his coaching career at the NAIA level in the mid 90’s. He assisted at Carroll for two seasons, Lewis-Clark State for one and Montana Tech for three. He was named the 2000 NWAACC Northern division Coach of the Year. Coach Amaral then spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at UC Santa Barbara under Bob Wil- liams. USBC won its first-ever Big West Conference title in 2002, and advanced to the NCAA tournament. In 2003, the Gauchos won the Big West regular season title and played in the NIT. Mark spoke at the 2013 Clinic and is back by popular demand. Jay Pivec Basketball Jay Pivec is one of an elite group of college coaches with more than 600 victories. Pivec, no stranger to Montana, has an overall head collegiate coaching record of 605-258 and received NJCAA National Coach of the Year honors in 2009. He was inducted into the NJCAA men’s basketball Hall of Fame in 2010. Currently at U of St. Thomas in MN, Pivec’s college coaching career spans five decades, with stops as an assistant at Minnesota State Univer- sity Mankato, Augsburg College and the University of Minnesota. Coach Pivec also served as head coach at Jamestown College, Montana State-Northern and Minneapolis Community and Technical College. At MCTC, Pivec took over a program that was winless in the previous season and guided it to consistent excellence on the national level, making 4 NJCAA National Tourna- ment appearances and playing for the Championship twice. Laurie Kelly Volleyball

Head Coach Laurie Kelly led the Battlin’ Bear volleyball program to another successful and inspira-tional season. Kelly finished her 8th season as the head coach of the Bears leading them to their 4th appearance in the last 5years to the National NAIA Tournament where the Bears finished 5th in the nation and were ranked # 1 for 11 straight weeks in the national poll. In 2014, the team, 32-3, won back to back Frontier Conference Tournament titles and went 14-0 in the regular season taking the conference championship. They won 31 straight matches and were named the 2014 Billings Gazette female team of the year and sports story of the year. Coach Kelly was selected as Frontier Conference COY and Northwest Region COY.

Kelly was the head volleyball coach at Roundup for 19 years compiling a 456-167 record with a winning percentage of 74%. Laurie has been the MCA COY five time and was inducted into the 2005 MCA HoF. Her topics are: “Passing” and “Scrimmages & Conditioning”

Dan WestT&F-Pole VaultWest has coached pole vault for

38 years: 8 at MSU, 6 at University of Oregon, and the past 15 at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR. His career highlight was coaching a British athlete to a 13th place finish at the 1991 Tokyo World Champion-ships, and again coaching him at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. Dan is a Masters vaulter clearing the bar in pole vault for 50 consecutive years.

Now the Pacific NW sales man-ager for OnTrack, Dan has worked for 4 manufacturing companies and 3 T&F dealers, giving him a great background with the equipment he sells. Through his work as a fabrica-tor, R&D technician, and marketing manager, Dan learned how per-formance requirements influence design parameters and manufactur-ing procedures necessary to create the best discus, javelin and vaulting poles on the market.

Dan’s first session will be "Pole Vault Bullet Points" followed by "Purchasing Track and Field Equip-ment, made Easy”

Jamie PinkertonSoftball

Jamie Pinkerton, a Division I coach since 1994, was hired in August 2013 to build the UM Griz softball program. Pinkerton, who has been in the USA Softball national team coaching pool since 2009, was formerly the head coach at Tulsa (2001-04) and Arkansas (2005-09). He spent four seasons at Iowa State (2010-13) as an assis-tant before being hired by Montana.

When Pinkerton arrived, the Golden Hurricane had not had a winning season since the program debuted in 1993. Tulsa went 13-42 in Pinkerton's first season (2001), but that only laid the groundwork for the dramatics that came next. With his first recruiting class in the program, Tulsa improved to 48-16 in 2002, a season that included a 19-game winning streak. Tulsa's 30.5-game improvement from 2001 to '02 ranks second in NCAA history.

Brian Doyon Volleyball

Doyon, who becomes the fourth volleyball coach at Montana, spent the last six years as Utah's recruiting coordinator. Playing in the Pac-12, the nation's deepest volleyball con-ference, the Utes won 21 matches in 2013 and went 20-13 last fall. Both years Utah advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament

For seven years Doyon served as the assistant director of Terry Pettit's Vail-based "Summit on Extraordinary Coaching". The leg-endary Pettit said of Doyon: "Brian is not only a very good volleyball coach, he's a well-rounded person, and he works hard at everything he does. He's going to do a great job at Montana, because he's a great volleyball coach and an even better person. He has great character, and will do his best to bring strong talent to the program. Lyle WeeseCC & Distance

Promoted to a full-time as-sistant in 2012, Lyle Weese began his coaching tenure with Montana State in 2009.

Weese enjoyed a successful Bobcat collegiate career (‘98-’03). And was captain of the ‘02 Bobcat CC squad that placed 11th at the NCAA National Championship. He was a 4-time All-American in the indoor 3,000 meter twice, the steeplechase, and cross country. At the end of 2012, he was ranked 13th in the nation in the steeplechase.

He competed in the 3,000 Meter steeplechase in the ‘04 and ‘08 US Olympic T&F Trials.

Alan CressT&F - Throws

Alan Cress begins his third year as an assistant for the Argo T&F Teams. In his first two seasons Argo throwers set a total of 39 new school records.

Cress was a volunteer T&F as-sistant at Darby from 2007-09 and then assisted at BCHS in Dillon, 2010-12. He has mentored 6 state champs and 16 to top-six state finishes. Cress was a 3-year letter-winner in track at Kansas State. A 7-time All-American as a USA Masters T&F competitor. Cress is also a member of the: National Throws Coaches Association, USA T&F-Montana, and the MCA.

Chris MouatBasketball

Chris Mouat has been the women’s basketball coach at MSUN for 10 seasons. The Skylights are coming off of a 29-6 season, which was the third highest win total in Northern history. Mouat was named the 2015 Frontier Conference COY.

The Skylights have made 3 NAIA National Tournament appear-ances under Coach Mouat. They have advanced to the round of 16 twice (2006 and 2014) and the round of 8 once (2015). His teams have broken 11 different all-time records at Northern, and he has had 16 individuals break single game, single season, or career records. Two of his Skylights also hold NAIA Division I all-time records.

Rob AshFootball

Rob Ash owns a better win-ning percentage (.670) than all but one Bobcat head coach, and has coached in more games (97) than any coach in school history. Ash led MSU to the FCS Playoffs for the 4th time in 2014, just one fewer than all of MSU's other coaches combined.

Ash’s record at MSU is 65-32. His 30 wins from 2010-12 mark the most wins and second-highest win-ning percentage over such a stretch in school history. Ash now stands 241-131-5 in his 35 seasons as a college head coach, with that win total standing sixth among active college coaches and 33rd all-time. He is one of just five Bobcat coaches to bring multiple championships to MSU. He is the only man to lead the Cats into four post-seasons.

Bill HimmelbergBasketball

Coach Bill Himmelberg enters his sixth year as the Lady Argos head coach. In the 14-15 season the program set a school record with 24 wins, won their first playoff game in 30 years and reached the NAIA Nationals for the first time. Awarded a No. 7 seed at the tournament, the Lady Argos upset second-seeded Loyola (La.) 73-54 and third-seeded Langston (Okla.) 72-69 to reach the Elite Eight. UGF fell to eventual national champion, Oklahoma City, 88-52.

Bill is the owner-operator of McDonald's of Great Falls-since 1993, and a long-time MCA Clinic contributor. His topic will be: “Turn-ing a Program Around with a focus on Defense”

BJ RobertsonFootball

2014 was B.J. Robertson's second season as head coach for Montana Western. He returned to his Alma Mater as head coach for the 2013 season after building a successful career as an assis-tant coach in programs at Rocky Mountain, Southern Oregon, and Rockford College. In his first season at the helm the Bulldogs finished 4-6 and improved to 6-5 during the 2014 campaign.

Bob StittFootball

In December, Bob Stitt was named the 36th head mentor for the Griz. He comes to UM after a 15-season stint as the head coach at the Colorado School of Mines, where he had an overall record of 108-62 (63.5%) and a 83-44 (65.4%) mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Stitt's teams enjoyed 13 win-ning seasons in his 15-year tenure, registered eight winning seasons in a row and won conference titles in 2004, 2010, and 2014. He is widely known in national coaching circles for his creative offensive mind and his innovative “fly-sweep” play. His 2014, Orediggers went 10-2 overall and 8-1 in the RMAC, and advanced to the Division II national playoffs. In 2013, they posted an 8-3 record.

Stitt was named league COY in 2004 and 2010. He was selected the Division II Football.com SW Region COY and was also tabbed the AFCA Region 5 COY in 2004. Welcome, Coach Stitt, to Big Sky Country!

Dirk BakerTennis

Dirk, a U.S.P.T.A. Elite profes-sional, has been involved with the game of tennis for over 25 years as a player, teacher and successful Director of Tennis. He began his tennis career in Southern CA, where he was a top ranked junior with numerous tournament wins. While attending Saddleback College, he was a member of the Men’s State Championship team. Dirk has worked alongside Pancho Segura, former coach of Jimmy Connors and Andre Agassi; Jose’ Hugeras, former coach of Jim Courier; Wayne Bryan, father and coach of top ranked double players, Mike and Bob Bryan. He was a hitting partner for Andre Agassi and has playing experience with tennis great Rod Laver. Baker has coached numer-ous junior players who reached national and international rankings preparing them for successful col-lege careers. Dirk’s enjoys working with adults and juniors of all ages and ability levels.

Steve KellerBasketball

2015-2016 will be Steve Keller's ninth season as Bulldog mentor. Under Keller the Bulldogs of UM-Western have averaged more than 19 wins per season and qualified for the NAIA Nat’l Tourney 5 of the last 6 years. During that stretch, the “Dogs” have made it to the “Sweet 16” four times and the “Elite 8” once. This past year they fell to the #1 ranked, Hope International, ending an outstanding 23-10 campaign. Coach Keller’s overall record is 160-95. He will be speaking on the “Dribble Drive Offense”.

Dudley BeardGolf

Dudley Beard has been the Head Golf Professional at Meadow Lark Country Club since 1986 and has assisted 7 years at UGF. He played college golf at the University of Arkansas. A Class A Member of the PGA of America for 30 years, Beard was selected Golf Profes-sional of the Year for the Western MT Chapter PGA in 2007. He was presented with the Presidents Plaque Award in 2010 by the Pacific Northwest Section PGA for player development and growth of the game programs and in 2013 was the Western MT PGA Chapter winner of the Patriot Award.

Lisa AllenSoftball

A two-time All-Pac-10 Player at Oregon State, Lisa Allen is enter-ing her fifth full year as the head softball coach at MSUB. During her first full season, in 2012, Allen led the Yellowjackets to a 32-18 overall record, winning the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title that earned MSUB its first berth to the NCAA tournament since 2009. Allen was in her 3rd year as an assistant coach at MSUB before taking over midway through the 2011 season. She went on to lead the Yellowjackets to a 22-9 record. She was previously an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State and Linfield College (Ore.). Lisa will cover: "Recruiting", "Catching" and “Defensive Strategies”

Jim StreetWrestling

Jim Street is legendary in MT wrestling circles and we are pleased to have him back at the Clinic. Street headed the Butte High wrestling program ‘76-‘98 and directed the Bulldogs to 15 state Class AA team championships, including 13 in a row, ‘80-92. Crowns were also won in ‘95 and ‘97.

Street’s Bulldogs compiled a 299-40 dual meet record. The mark included 112 straight dual meet wins during a state-record streak. He was honored as MCA AA Wrestling COY 14 times, received NHSACA Wrestling COY in ’07. He was inducted into the NHSACA Hall of Fame in ‘03, the Butte Sports Hall of Fame in 1999, the MCA Hall of Fame in 1994 and named National Wrestling Coaches High School Athletic Association COY in ‘92.

Jim will talk on “Creating Be-lievers”, “Building a Successful Wrestling Program” and “Control & Turns (arm bar series)”.

Grady BennettFootball

Coach Bennett, a former Flat-head 3-sport athlete and outstand-ing UM quarterback, enters his 12th year as a head coach and 9th year at Glacier High School where, in only their 8th season as a program, he led the WolfPack to their first ever class AA football championship in 2014. After two initial building years, the WolfPack have been in the playoffs 6 straight seasons making the quarterfinals in '09 and '10, the semifinals in '11 and '12 and the championship game in '13 and '14 finishing as runner-ups in '13 and winning the title in '14 with an undefeated 13-0 record. Over those 6 seasons, the WolfPack's record is 55-17 and they are currently on a 16 game winning streak at home play-ing at Legends Stadium. Bennett’s session will focus on “Principles of building a successful program”

Don W. SmithBasketball

Don Smith is currently the Sophomore Boys Basketball Coach at Glacier High School. Coach Smith has spent fifty years coaching at high school, NCAA Division I and II and Community College levels.

At the University of New Or-leans, Smith assisted teams that played twice for the NCAA Division II National Championship. As Head Coach at the University of New Orleans, his team advanced to the Quarter Finals of the NIT and he guided Brevard Community College, to the Florida Community College State Championship twice.

Patrick Hansen Jr.Basketball

Patrick Hansen Jr. is the head varsity boy’s basketball coach at Laurel High School. He is a three-time state champion; twice in Class A with Laurel High School (2010 & 2015) and once in Class C with Gardiner High School (2005). He has been coaching boys’ basketball for 19 years ; 15 as a head coach with a varsity record of 260-92. Pat was MCA COY Year in 2005, 2010 and 2015 and has been nominated for MCA COY eight times.

Hansen is a 2000 RMC gradu-ate and has also coached football, girls’ basketball, soccer and legion baseball. Pat’s presentation will cov-er man to man defensive aspects, Laurel Locomotives philosophy, and drills used in daily practices.

Mark Beckman MHSA

MHSA Executive Director Mark Beckman has an extensive back-ground as a coach and activities di-rector. As the MHSA’s top executive, he is the primary rules interpreter for all Association by-laws and regulations.

Kyle PaulsonBasketball

Kyle Paulson is the Head Boys’ Basketball mentor and K-12 Principal in Belt. Last season Coach Paulson led the Huskies to a perfect 26-0 season and was named MCA COY. After serving a year as an intern-assistant with the men’s basketball team at Boise State, Kyle has compiled 16 years of varsity boys’ basketball coach-ing experience at both large and small High Schools in MO and MT, with an overall record of 257-170. His teams have claimed 6 District championships, 2 Regional/Divi-sional championships and 1 State Championship.

Kyle will speak on “Skill De-velopment for the undersized Post Players”

Derek SchulzT&F

Coach Schulz has spent his entire coaching career of 23 years at Whitefish High School where his boys’ T&F teams have won seven state championships while winning 12 divisional titles. The girls’ team has won the past 4 divisional titles and placed at state three times. The WHS track program emphasizes re lays, resulting in 14 state champion relay teams and 14 other relay state placers. The WHS girls’ team broke the state A 4x100 record in 2014.

Coach Schulz is a seven time Montana Coaches Association COY in Boys’ T&F and twice the media has selected Coach Schulz as their top T&F coach.

WHS coaches and athletes run a youth program; introducing young athletes to the sport of T&F.

Joanne Austin MHSA

Joanne is the MHSA Associate Director, and her duties include gender equity, soccer and fine arts. She has presented workshops on hazing, bullying and athletic equity at the state, regional and national levels.

Erika GustavsenVolleyball

Erika grew up in Missoula and played volleyball and basketball at Hellgate High. She attended MSU-B earning Health Enhance-ment and History degrees. While in Billings, she coached basketball at Senior and Skyview, and volleyball at Skyview. In 2011, Erika took a position at Bozeman High School, and assisted in both volleyball and basketball. She took the helm of the Hawk Volleyball Team in 2013. In two seasons they have made two state tournament appearances, won a conference championship, and had a 3rd place finish at state. Gustavsen became the varsity girls’ basketball coach at Bozeman in 2014, winning the conference championship and finishing 2nd at state.

This is her first time speaking at the clinic, where she will focus on player development and practice structure and drills.

Shauna AndersonSoftball

Shauna Anderson has been assisting young pitchers and vol-unteering with the Frenchtown Softball Program since her family moved to MT in ’97. To say that softball is in her blood would be an understatement. She was a catcher and infielder on her CA high school championship team. She later played on 2 ASA Nat’l Cham-pionship teams and 2 ASA Nat’l runners-up. While playing for the UCLA Bruins, they notched two Col-lege World Series Championships. Coach Anderson was selected as an ASA Open All-American and also to the 1987 College World Series All-Tournament Team. She will be talking on “Developing Young Pitchers”

Brian MichelottiMHSA

Brian has been Assistant Di-rector for the MHSA for 9 years. He is responsible for the sports of football, golf, tennis and wrestling; the MT student leadership work-shops; the MHSA website; and the MHSA Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.

Spencer HulsT&F- 1600 RelaySpencer Huls was born and

raised in Corvallis, Montana, and is lucky enough to serve as the head T&F mentor at his alma mater, Corvallis High School. In his tenure as head coach, the Bluedevils have won 7 team state championships. His girls’ mile relay team has won or been second at the state meet in each of the last four years, and holds the Class A state record at 3:57 (That same team went 3:54 earlier in the year). Spencer Is a 7-time MCA COY.

Jill AyersVolleyball

Ji l l has been the varsi ty volleyball coach at Manhattan Christian High School for the past eleven years. She has 21 years of combined coaching experience in Florida, Montana, and Idaho. Her teams have been quite successful, making state appearances six of the past seven years including one state championship and two runner-up finishes. Jill also teaches business and technology classes at Manhat-tan Christian K-12.

Her topic will be “101 Ways your iPad Can Help You Win”

Rick NordahlFootball

In 2013, Coach Nordahl took the reins as head FB coach at BCHS in Dillon, culminating in a 21-2 record, two State Titles, and consecutive MCA COY honors. He was an assistant coach/defensive coordinator under HOF Coach, Terry Thomas, for 23 seasons. During his tenure at Dillon, the Beavers have compiled a record of 193-50 with seven state championships. In 2011 he was recognized by the Montana Chapter of the National Football Foundation as “Assistant COY”. Coach Nordahl has served as an assistant coach in four previ-ous Shrine football games, one Mon-Dak game, and he was the head coach for the West squad in the 2014 Shrine game. His topic will be “Defensive Drills for Success with an Emphasis on Linebackers”. Rick graduated from Helena Capital and Western Montana College.

Lanny BryantWrestling

Lanny Bryant, founder and Editor-in-Chief of Wrestling USA Magazine, has spent a lifetime devoted to the sport of wrestling. Coach Bryant’s accomplishments and awards are remarkable. He was inducted into the AAU Wrestling HOF in 2007, honored as National Wrestling Coaches Association COY and MCA COY. In 20 years his teams are 241/47 in dual meets. He has coached 36 State champions with over 100 state placers, had 9 HS teams undefeated in dual meets and coached 4 All-Americans in the college ranks.

Currently the head wrestling coach at Missoula Big Sky, Coach Bryant has enjoyed stints at MSU(3) and Western WA (2) as well as 26 years at the high school level, win-ning state championships in both WY and MT.

Eli FieldSoftball

Eli is a familiar figure around the baseball fields in Western Montana. Field had been the Frenchtown Head Softball Coach for 11 years, with a remarkable 221-50 record. He notched 6 conference titles and 4 Class A State Championships along the way. For 16 years Eli served as assistant coach for the Missoula Mavericks American Legion baseball team. He was the 2014 MCA Softball COY. Topic: "Mental Development"

Brandon GondeiroFootball

Brandon Gondeiro just finished his fourth season as the assistant coach for the Geraldine-Highwood Rivals. Brandon and Rivals Head Coach Rod Tweet have compiled a 33-8 record over the four seasons of the co-op. The Rivals have won two conference championships and appeared in two semifinals before winning back-to-back state cham-pionships in 2013 & 2014. He was selected as a 2013-2014 Assistant to Coach of the Year. He has also served as the Head Girls’ Basketball Coach for three seasons. He will speak on “the use and technique of pulling offensive lineman”

Beth SanchezCheer & Dance

Beth started her cheerleading career as a competitive gymnast in Washington where she was a level 8 & 9 State and Regional champion. She went on to become a cheer-leader for her High School and local All Star program, winning state as a team member and individual. Beth then cheered for Morehead State University in Kentucky, where she earned the title of UCA College National Champion in the D1A all girl Division. She was also honored with the title of Kentucky Colonel because of her accomplishments.

Beth has been involved with UCA since 2004 and has been a Head Instructor, a member of the UCA curriculum team and UCA College Staff. She has also been a part of the ICU international staff, teaching in countries such as Nor-way, Japan, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Suriname and Germany. Beth is extremely excited to speak at the MCA conference this year.

Kip RyanAD

Kip Ryan has been the Principal and AD at Sweet Grass County High School in Big Timber, since 2002. Kip coached high school girls’ basketball for 28 years. He has won numerous awards including 2006 Class B AD of the Year and 2009 MT AD of the Year. He served as the 4B District President in 2004-05 and has been District 5B President since 2011. He also was the Southern Di-visional President from 2009-2011. Currently he is the Class B Director for the MCA. He has served on the MCA Scholarship Committee since 2009 and is presently chairperson. Kip has been a member of the MHSA Sportsmanship Committee since 2003, and has also managed numerous tournaments including the combined Class B Southern Divisional Basketball Tournament. Kip will be speaking about the yearly duties of an AD, especially beneficial for new AD’s.

Daniel RyanS & C

Dan Ryan is in his fifth year as a member of the UNLV Strength & Conditioning Department, and his first as the head strength coach for the UNLV Women’s T&F & Cross Country team and the Men’s Tennis team.

Ryan came to UNLV in 2010 after 4 seasons with the U of M Football Team at the as an under-graduate assistant. In 2014, Ryan helped the Rebels reach the Heart of Dallas Bowl; the university’s first bowl game since 2000.

A Big Timber native, Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree from the U of M in 2010 and his master’s degree from UNLV in 2012. He also is a NSCA Certified S&C Specialist and a Level 1 USAW Sport Perfor-mance Coach. Daniel topics are:

Mark Dennehy AD

Mark has served as the AD and Assistant Principal of Glacier High in Kalispell for the last 8 years and led activities at Flathead High for the first 7 years of his administra-tive career. Mark worked through the transition in Kalispell from a one high school town to a two high school town. Mark will speak on Creating a Can Do Culture in Activities.

Michael MaturySM

Dr. Matury is a graduate of Purdue University and completed his chiropractic training at Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989. He practiced in Indiana until mov-ing to Montana in 2005. Practice emphasis includes soft tissue injury and repetitive strain disor-ders. Prior patients include two Mr. USA body building champions, a national power lifting champion, and various other NCAA athletes. More recently he has become certified in Functional Movement Screening which is being used by the Titlist Players Institute and various professional and college athletes for injury prevention. He will speak on how it can decrease injury and increase performance.

Dennis Murphy AD

Dennis is a Certified Athletic Administrator through the NIAAA and has served as the Activities Director at Havre High School for the past 14 years. He was selected Class A Athletic Director of the year in 2012 and the MIAAA Montana Athletic Director of the Year in 2014. He has twice (2012 and 2015) been a finalist for the NHSACA AD of the Year. Dennis will speak on different ways of promoting your student athletes.

William BiskupiakSports MedicineWilliam Biskupiak is the Health

Educator for the Montana Asthma Control Program. He has been a member of the Asthma Control Program since June of 2013 and has worked in the public health sector since 2010 after graduating from Carroll College with a BA in Community Health.

The Asthma Friendly Schools for Coaches Training was created by the Montana Asthma Control Program in order to provide training to coaches on the basic principles of asthma management and how asthma can affect student athletes. The training reviews basic asthma pathophysiology, identifies common asthma triggers and gives strate-gies to reduce exposure to these triggers, and outlines the protocol to follow in an asthma emergency situation.

Paul CappSM/S&C

Paul Capp, head athletic trainer at Hellgate High School in Missoula, MT, is finishing his second year at Hellgate. A 2013 graduate of the University of Montana Athletic Training Education Program, Paul, also holds certification as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). At Hellgate, Paul, is responsible for covering all school-sponsored sports. In addition to his duties as the head athletic trainer he also works with football, volleyball, boy’s and girl’s basketball, and girl’s soc-cer in the weight room throughout the school year, focusing on in-creasing athletic performance while decreasing risk of injury. Through out the summers, Paul runs his own strength and speed camp for all Hellgate student-athletes. Paul’s topics will be: “Concussion Identifi-cation Protocol”, Injury Prevention Exercises in the Weight Room” and “Equipment and Brace Fitting”

COLLEGE CREDIT: Two semester units of non-degree, Professional Development Credit will be offered by the University of Montana Western. Courses are for students who have baccalaureate degrees and appropriate teaching credentials. Credit tuition is in addition to clinic fees and the cost is $115 for one credit or $145 for two credits. Official transcripts may be ordered at time of registration for $3 each. Required written assignments due by email Aug.10th. Registration to be completed at clinic with payment by MasterCard, VISA, Discover Card, or personal check. District approval is recommended prior to credit enrollment. EQUIVALENCY CREDIT: This year 19 OPI Renewal Units are avail-able at no extra charge. 19 Hours of verified attendance at clinic sessions is required. PICK UP NECESSARY FORMS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE REGISTRATION AREA. No credit can be granted for any sessions prior to the time you obtain forms. IF YOU SIGN UP FOR UM-WESTERN CREDIT, YOU MAY NOT ALSO TAKE OPI RENEWAL UNITS.

ALTERNATE PIR TIME: Montana registrants may be able to take advantage of this option. To do so, your school must list the MCA clinic as an acceptable activity in their request for PIR days.

FRONTIER CONFERENCE ATHLETIC DIRECTORS AND COACHES will host a hospitality session at Hi-Ho Tavern on 2600 10th Ave. S. All clinic participants are invited.

WEDNESDAY: Steak BBQ at the Mansfield Convention Center. Clinic badge entitles clinic participants to a free ticket. Pick it up at the exhibit area by 5 P.M. Wednesday. Guest tickets are $15.00 each. Doors open at 6:30 P.M. Serving starts at 7:00 P.M. Thanks to Dick Zadick, the BBQ caterer. Co-hosted by MCA and FLAMINGO BAR.

THURSDAY: MCA AWARDS CEREMONY, 11:30 AM in the Audito-rium: MCA Hall of Fame Inductions, Coach of the Year Awards, Longevity & Service Awards, Appreciation Awards, Bozeman Trophy Outstanding Contributor Award, Honorary Memberships, NHSACA Awards and MCA & Universal Athletic Scholarship Awards will be presented. WE URGE YOUR ATTENDANCE TO HONOR YOUR PEERS. After the program, you may proceed downstairs to the cafeteria for a luncheon sponsored by MCA.

THURSDAY: 5:30 Anaconda Hills – MCA/TOWNHOUSE INNS SCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNEY. $5,000 Hole-in-one prize, Two bonus hole prizes. 72 max. players. Sign up in Field House Wed or early Thurs. $25 playing fee + cart rental. T-Shirts provided.

THURSDAY: FLAMINGO FLING-THE FLAMINGO BAR is hosting an evening of good fellowship at 3028 10th Avenue South, starting at 7 P.M. Dancing at 9 P.M. UNIVERSAL ATHLETIC SERVICE will be hosting the Annual Horse Racing Event at the Flamingo Bar from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. hosted by Dewey Michaels.

EXHIBITS AND HOSPITALITY AREASPlease use your designated hour and other free time to talk to exhibitors – Their fees keep your

cost low. This is extremely important to the success of the clinic. Get Vendor signatures on bingo card to be eligible for Super Prize Drawings Thursday at 8:00 and 1:30 – multiple prize drawings including 6 drawings for $50 (YOU MUST BE PESENT TO WIN)

Exhibits will be set up in the Fieldhouse. Most of these fine representatives conduct booth drawings or donate merchandise or services for super prizes. Prizes will be listed in exhibitor and door prize flyers which will be in Shoulder Bags donated by RED ROCK SPORTING GOODS. The MCA provides pens & legal pads. Shoulder Bags will contain two coupons from MCDONALD’S OF GREAT FALLS, free single hamburger & Frosty Float coupons from WENDY'S OF MONTANA. HOSPITALITY tables, featur-ing FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST each morning—rolls, doughnuts, maple bars, coffee and milk, plus COKE products, MEADOWGOLD milk and ice cream bars, MCA cookies, chips and other snacks all day. OTHER ATTRACTIONS AND ENTERTAINMENTMontana State Fair July 24-Aug.1; GOLF: There are 4 courses in Great Falls - Meadow Lark Coun-try Club open to members & guests, two municipal courses, Eagle Falls & Anaconda Hills. Hickory Swing (formerly Emerald Greens) is also open to the public. C.M. Russell Museum, Paris Gibson Square, Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, Giant Springs, Gibson Park, Shopping Centers, and numerous other attractions. River’s Edge Trail is a fantastic jogging, biking, skating and walking trail along the Missouri. FISHING is another great option. GLACIER AND YELLOWSTONE PARKS are within driving distance.
