Health impact• in 2007,
– infectious diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid and viral Hepatitis‐A
constitutes 21% of all the reported communicable diseases.
– Hepatitis‐A and dysentery accounts for 71.6% and 24% of all water borne intestinal infections respectively.
– Children between 5‐9 years are most at risk of Hepatitis‐A .
• Poor practice level amongst most respondents in regards to
washing their water tank 1‐2 times per week.
• The highest rate of washing was found amongst people
who lived in soum centers (15.7%), while the lowest level
was amongst people living in ‘ger’ districts around UB
(8.4%).
