Money Saving Tips - Order Clothes Wholesale Direct From the Clothing Manufacturers

When you are in the wholesale clothing business, you are into it to make a living i.e. to make a profit from selling clothes. It is therefore crucial to get your clothes at the lowest possible price.

Tip 1: Cut the middleman. The best way to cut costs, in the clothing business like in many industries, is to cut the middleman out of the equation and get in direct contact with the clothing manufacturer. That way, you buy wholesale clothes direct from the clothing factory and avoid additional costs related to agents, wholesalers and so on.

Tip 2: Order overseas. Buying overseas is a great way to reduce cost also. So you might consider ordering your garments direct from a clothes manufacturer in China - or a clothing manufacturer based in an other Asian country such as Vietnam as long as the cost of labor is competitive.

What's the catch? Well, the difficult part is to avoid one big additional cost: The cost of travelling to your supplier. You need the job done without you being there; otherwise the money saved in one hand is offset by the cost of travelling. You need to establish a good contact with the clothing manufacturer's consultant who is helping you, he has one foot in the factory and he represents you, so find this person and make sure he takes good care of you.

Tip 3: Spread the fix costs. Of course the larger the quantity of clothes purchased the lower the price per garment. It's good to keep in mind that the costs of shipping the clothes will be spread over a larger quantity also, thus making the cost per piece lower. Ideally, you will want to fill up a container of clothes. This will be achieved with around 5000 garments.

If you are working with quantities of clothes larger than this, then the cost of travelling to the factory won't weigh too much in the overall money invested.

From the clothing manufacturer's perspective 5000 garments is a good quantity as it allows for a chain production. Here I am assuming that all 5000 garments are the same i.e. all 5000 garments are t-shirts, or all 5000 garments are sweaters.

Tip 4: Ask how to take the costs down. Of course, just ask! That makes complete sense but you would be surprised by the number of people who ask for a quote from a couple of manufacturers, receive the quote and find themselves in a dead end, just because they don't ask how to make it better and cheaper.

For example, did you know? When producing the clothes, it doesn't really matter if all 5000 garments are of the same color or not. Also, it doesn't matter if all 5000 garments have the same printing or not. The chain works just the same way.
