A DAY IN THE LIFE
“Talent Acquisition is the love child of sales and recruiting!”
These words actually came out of my mouth during my Skype
interview with none other than Gianna Scorcone. While the
wording might have been a bit odd, especially for a formal
interview, I meant what I said and will stand behind my initial
understanding of what being a Career Agent at Mondo
means.
I’d held plenty of odd jobs in the past, including but not limited
to landscaper, bus driver, sales rep, and HR assistant. There
were always aspects to each role that I found very exciting
and motivating, but I hadn’t found the position that fit me JUST
right (Goldilocks syndrome) until I arrived at Mondo!
As a Career Agent I seek out top talent nationwide by using
Linkedin Messaging, Monster, Careerbuilder, Indeed, and
referrals. Once I get a candidate on the phone I do 3 things:
build rapport so they feel comfortable to share their story, sell
the candidate on Mondo, and then screen the candidate for
the ideal skillset, experience, and personality. Once I’ve found
a winner, I schedule and manage the interview process,
acting as a liaison between the candidate and the manager--
getting feedback, managing expectations, and if all goes well
hiring the next top biller at Mondo!
What I love most about being a Career Agent is the
relationship building process. When you are dealing with
highly sought after sales reps your ability to build a
relationship with them and adjust your pitch according to what
they are looking for is crucial. And the best part about
recruiting internally is that once I make a placement I can
continue to stay in contact with my hires! Seeing my hires
succeed at Mondo is absolutely thrilling and the reason I am
so thankful Gianna overlooked my odd response and gave me
a shot on the Mondo Career Agent team!

CORE VALUES
As an organization, we have been focusing on CORE VALUES and how they shape our culture
at Mondo as well as our interactions with our consultants, our candidates, and our teammates.
These VALUES were created from feedback in the field, one on ones, People Survey results
and exit interviews. You have defined these as important and critical in our growing success as a
company.
These VALUES are aspirational, that means that while we’re not always successful, we all work
every day to make sure that we do our best to live by the values that help define our brand.
Check out the success stories and keep the culture alive by visiting
our CORE VALUES WEBSITE!
HEALTH & WELLNESS
Mondo Marathoners! Nicole Gillette, NYC AD
I will be running the Honolulu Marathon in Honolulu,
Hawaii December 14th at 5am! It is the 3rd biggest
marathon in the country!
TIPS & TRICKS:
Planning! Lots and lots of planning. There is a LOT
of strategy involved! Some joke it is another job- but
really.. almost is!
You cannot go run a marathon without proper
training if you want to do well - it is 26.2 miles after
all!
I do have a MAIN time goal to hit - which is to run it
in under 4 hours. Another goal that would be pretty
awesome to hit my first time around would be to
qualify for the Boston Marathon (hitting around 3 hrs
35 min)!
I have a college XC/track background at UAlbany
where I was mainly a 5/6/10k runner- but with taking
a lot of time off after graduation I had to ease my
way back into training again. I have been training
alone, but ill be running it with a former teammate-
she is unfortunately back in Syracuse training as
well. Definitely recommend having a buddy to train
with it makes it more fun to converse as you run and
it keeps you going!
Along with reading many training logs/books to really
put together my own program incorporating running,
cross training, and REST. My friend found an
awesome training tip which is really a great idea to
incorporate: http://www.halhigdon.com/training/5113
7/marathon-novice-1-training-program
I actually made my own logs throughout the months
of training (I started back in May- but really got
serious come August).
DIET:
As far as diet, I am a celiac and not liking
meat is a challenge! I love oatmeal- I've
always been big on fruits and veggies.
Love kind bars, and Greek yogurt!
I do try to get in protein by eating fish, and
forcefully eating turkey and chicken.
Vitamins are also great- calcium especially
to prevent fractures like I have had multiple
years in the past.
