HOME “FUR”

THE HOLIDAYS

Pet Adopt-A-

Thon! – The Humane Society of Noble County will be at

Noble County Public Library Central for a holiday meet &

greet with adoptable shelter animals. We’ll create fleece

blankets, cat toys hand-made by YOU and other items to

donate to the shelter. We will follow with a storytime and a

chance to get a holiday picture taken with the animals! Give

them a chance at a ―fur-ever‖ home this holiday, or just

come in for a visit. NCPL CENTRAL Saturday, Dec. 7 -

donation activities from 11:30-12:30; meet & greet

from 12:30-2pm.

HOT READS FOR COLD NIGHTS

ADULT READING CHALLENGE! – NCPL challenges

you to enjoy some ―hot reads‖ this winter! Can you find a

book that has the word ―winter‖ in the

title? How about a book that has a hot

cup of coffee on the cover? These are just

a few of the challenges you can under-

take to get you reading this winter! When

you’ve finished a book fill out a book slip

and drop it in a prize box at your local

branch. The more books you read, the

better your chances of winning. See flyer

for reading challenges or feel free to challenge yourself.

Contest runs through February28 with winners being drawn

March 3. Good luck! NCPL CENTRAL Begins Monday,

Dec. 16

Coming in January! – Genre Book Club! We’re

starting a new book club and the books are chosen by

YOU! A genre will be assigned to each month (January’s

genre will be fiction). Pick any piece of fiction that’s new to

you, read it, and we’ll meet to discuss it. Can’t meet? Don’t

worry - the discussion will be taken to Facebook. Call Suzie

at 260-636-7197 for more info. The first meeting will be

held the second Wednesday of each month from 6-7pm.

LUCKY U CERAMICS – Join us at Lucky U Ceramics to

paint a gift for the holidays. We will meet at Lucky U on

the east side of the courthouse square

downtown Albion at 3:30pm. In order to

come to this event you must register

with Erika at NCPL Central by Wednes-

day, Dec. 4. NCPL CENTRAL Thursday,

Dec. 5 at 3:30pm.

CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD! – We will

learn the traditions of other nations for this festive time of

year. Let’s sample delicious food while listening to tradi-

tional music from other countries. NCPL CENTRAL

Thursday, Dec. 12 at 3:30-5pm.

TEEN ’YEAR IN REVIEW’ – You are going to be FA-

MOUS!!! We will be making a book to publish that will let

us all remember for years to come what was ―hot‖ and

what was ―not‖! Maybe some favorite music or an awesome

pair of jeans? You say ―LOL‖ was soooooo ―last year‖, but

what took its place? What is it from 2013 that you want

people to remember? NCPL CENTRAL Thursday, Dec. 19

at 3-5pm.

HOLIDAY FUN – This may be your last chance to

make gifts for those special people for Christmas! Come for

a day filled with games, crafts, food, fun and of course, a

MOVIE! NCPL CENTRAL Monday, Dec. 23 from 11am-

5pm.

Wreath magic

Old books and glue guns were put to good use to make unique decorative wreaths in a class held recently at NCPL Central. The girls above left, used only the ―W‖ pages out of an old dictionary because their last name begins with W.
