Won’t Be At Eleebana Public School in 2015? If your children are definitely NOT going to be at EPS in 2015, could you please let the office know as soon as possible please? We are now planning our enrolment numbers for classes in 2015, and need to have an accurate estimate of our numbers.

2015 Student Enrolments: All students who are 4 ½ to 6 years of age are entitled to start school in 2015 in our Kindergarten classes. If you have students who are in this age group, or know of families of students in this age group, or any neighbours who currently attend other schools and would like to attend Eleebana PS in Kinder to Year 6 in 2015, could you (and tell them to) please contact the school office for an application form for enrolment. Thank you everyone.

Ian Graham, Principal

Deputy Principal’s Report Congratulations Mr Graham: If you were in any doubt, let me assure you that running a school of 600 students and making it as great as EPS is an incredibly demanding job. Mr Graham has selflessly given himself to this role and we join with him in celebrating the announcement of his much-deserved retirement.

Please save the date - Friday 12 December from 2:45pm to come and say farewell. Choosing the Right Shoes: School shoes may all look the same but the cost can vary from about $30 to $120 and beyond. Does a more expensive shoe mean a better shoe? Find out more: http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/wellbeing/health/choosing-the-right-school-shoes

NSW Public School Terms and Holidays : Here’s a snapshot of NSW public school terms and holidays for 2015 - 2016: http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/events/vacations.html

Jargon explained: If your child's teacher mentions G&T in the COLA, she's actually talking about gifted and talented classes being held in the covered outdoor learning area. More school jargon explained: http://www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/homework-and-study/homework-tips/school-jargon-busters

Where’s the Octopus? Wow - it's videos like this that show kids how cool studying science can be. Watch it with them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoCzZHcwKxI&feature=youtu.be

Great things I saw last week: Welcome to our 2015 Kindergarten doing great things at their orientation visit. Thank you to Dr Reed who gave a wonderful talk to Year 6 regarding Australia's wartime involvement.

Have a great week.

Dr Carl Leonard

Students that have completed an AMEB exam this year and Year 6 students are not required to sit the assessment, however, they may if they choose. Please advise Mr Goeldner in writing (except for Year 6) if your child will not be sitting the assessment. It is very friendly and positive.

Canteen News Unfortunately I have had to postpone our Volunteers Night Out. It will now be held on Thursday 27 November at 7pm, venue to be advised. Apologies for any invconvenience. Regards Annie.

P & C News – from the President The P&C will be running its BBQ the evening of the school disco on the 20th November. If you would like to volunteer to assist with the BBQ or in the canteen please see myself or Annie.

If you can volunteer for the canteen at any point over the next closing weeks of the year Annie would be most appreciative. There have been numerous days where Annie has had to work on her own, and close for over the counter sales.

There will unfortunately not be any Christmas Carols this year due to a shortage of man power. We will look to holding one next year.

The next P&C meeting will be held on 24 November at 7pm, due to Band Solo night being held on the 17th November.

Thanks, Vanessa Price
