Current Organization: Proger Engineering and ManagementDuration: December 2014 to till date.Designation: Mechanical Site EngineerProject: KAP4 – His Majesty King of Saudi Arabia Security Headquarters Development Program (Phase Four), is a Program that will lead to the construction of 24 Projects complexes to be used by the Ministry of Interior for institutional purposes in 9 different locations around the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on a total area of 3 millions and a half of square meters, including more than 380 buildings to be designed and built, for a total of one million and a half covered square meters, and with a total cost of the project exceeding 2.3 billion Dollars. The complexes will be of three different kinds according to their uses and to their main buildings, that’s to say offices (General Directorates and Administration Buildings of various kind), sports training centers, and dormitories (including a total of 72 building, each one of 20 apartments). Proger’s role in KAP4 is the provision of engineering consultancy services for overall project management and for reviewing the designs and supervising the implementation of the program. In particular Proger will review the design to be submitted by the Contractors (RTCC and ACC), also coordinating such design with the end users to ensure it meets their requirements, and will approve all the materials, procedures and methods to be used or implemented in the process. Moreover, Proger will perform the supervision of all construction activities until completion of the works and successful handing over, including site inspections activities, testing and commissioning stage, closing out / handing over to the end users for occupancy and operation.

Job responsibilities:

Job involves studying Tender/Contract drawings, Project specification and Contract general terms and conditions of the project.

Job includes reviewing Shop drawings according to Design/Tender/Contract drawings and Specification in compliance with standards and codes of respective disciplines (viz. ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, DW/144, IPC, and UPC & SASO).

Design Review and Verification (DRV) of all MEP Services includes water supply & drainage calculations, firefighting calculations, storm drain calculation and heat load calculations for both inside the building and site network. In addition pump head calculations and ESP calculation and accordingly deciding to approve contractor’s selection of equipment viz. Chillers, Air Handling Units, Fan coil Units, Pumps (CHW, Portable/Non Portable water and Fire Fighting pumps.), exhaust and fresh air fans, jet fans etc.

Reviewing of Material Submittals with their compliance sheet and make comparison sheet between Suppliers / Manufacturers and project Specification for at least three different Suppliers.

Working also as BMS Engineer from mechanical side dealing with Siemens as manufacturer with two different specialized subcontractor Star-care and Sela as designer, programming and testing/commissioning.

Work includes studying tender and contract document for input and output points for each system.

Scheduled design progressive meetings with contractor, designer and manufacturer to finalize design concept, BOQ and sequence of operation of each system as a workshop before starting design material submittal.

Coordinating with Telecommunication department for reviewing the BMS design (input and output points schedule), control diagrams, sequence of operations and field device selections for each system.

Have involved in specialized utility service design includes calculations, shop drawing and different technology for STP, WTP and RO plants.

Correspondence with Contractor in regarding to attend the meeting with Manufacturers, Suppliers and Materials vendors and also Factory visits and off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials.

To schedule and witness test for equipment and services in laboratories or on sites with third party whenever required.

Dealt with NCRs and RFIs, Change Orders and Variation Orders and provided technical assistance to Planning and Cost Control Engineering teams.
