This course is suitable for participants with disabilities, particularly those with learning
needs, to assist in developing skills to explore work options and access pathways to
further specific vocational education and training.
Participants can develop a range of skills to help them plan their next steps and prepare
them for community activities, voluntary work or further training. It supports learners to
improve their employability and work readiness .
It is a great environment for participants to develop their independence, decision making
skills and self confidence, meet and interact with new people and work towards their full
potential. We have small class sizes to cater for the individual needs of students.
The course will be delivered in the classroom, with some activities, excursions to be in
the community.

Students will be issued with a Certificate at the successful completion of the course or a
Statement of Attainment for successful completion of individual units.

Entry Requirements Entry to the Certificate I in Work Education is intended for post compulsory school age learners with evidence of a permanent cognitive impairment / intellectual disability. Students must be 18 years of age and have finished their schooling. Course Duration The course is delivered one day a week over a year’s duration. Fees and Charges Enrolment and material fees may apply. Up-to-date fee information is on our website and can be provided. To receive a fee concession you must provide us with your current healthcare or pension card. Training & Assessment This training consists of course notes and activities that students work through in the classroom with their trainer, self paced learning and excursions. The assessment involves a variety of methods including: demonstrations, short answer questions and observation. The assessment of your overall competence at this Certificate level will be undertaken by a qualified assessor.
Fees: Full Price $250.00 ($0.43 cents per student contact hour) Concession $ 50.00
Approximate Government Contribution: $14 per student contact hour

Aim and Philosophy of Moe Life Skills Community Centre
The aim of Moe Life Skills Community Centre is to facilitate adult vocational and education
training and independent skills development to assist people with disabilities to fully exercise their
rights, and achieve their aspirations as individuals within the community.
MLSCC aims to make a difference in the lives of people living with a disability.
Making a difference informs everything we do.
The organisation also supports the development of new ways of doing things and improving
programs for people with disabilities.
Before you enrol in the course
Pre Training Review and a Foundation Skills Assessment
Students are assessed if they are suitable for the course or unit in which they wish to enrol.
This can be done by asking questions about other courses you have done, what current skills
you have, reading through school reports, completing some written tasks and speaking to your
family or staff. This information will be used to advise you on the most suitable course or unit
for you, plan a pathway for more study or to help you with getting a job. If this course is not the
most suitable for you we will let you know.
