Practical exercise N° 1 – Safety risk assessment - Airport construction project (Handout N° 1)

Participants will be divided into separate groups

A facilitator will be appointed, who will coordinate the discussions and activities of each group

A summary of discussions will be written on electronic forms

A draft report, using the appropriate electronic form, will be prepared for its presentation in the plenary sessions and a member of the group (assisted by other members of the group) will brief on the results

International airport construction project


Objective of the exercise

Conduct a safety risk assessment of a three-phase airport construction project (relocation of the control tower, construction of a parallel runway and construction of a new international terminal south of the airport)

International airport extension project in three phases (150,000 movements a year with a forecast of 10% traffic increase yearly)
