Organized or self-organized

• You can choose to study in one of our partner universities for one semester

• You can also organize your own exchange study semester at universities, which are not partner universities.

In such case, you have to organize everything independently. You are advised:• to contact the faculty for recognition of the

credits you will earn, in order to ensure the credits are transferable;

• to clarify all the administrative issues prior to your exchange study semester.

General Information

EXCHANGE SEMESTER

• Maximum number of ECTS credit points per semester: 30;

• Exchange students normally take courses according to their academic level;

• Application deadlines:• Summer semester - …;• Winter semester - …;

• Eligibility criteria for admission – 3rd semester full time student.

Procedure

1. You have two options to choose:• to apply for an EXCHANGE

SEMESTER;• or to do an internship.

2. Find a university (locally or overseas);3. Apply for an exchange semester;4. Inform of the outcome of your application;5. Implement the exchange semester;6. Make sure that your ECTS credits points

were transferred.

Keep in mind

EXCHANGE SEMESTER

• Academic calendar: you have to check the semester start and end dates because the academic calendars of some universities may not coincide with ours;

• Visa requirements: depending on the student´s nationality and the country to go, exchange students are required to obtain a student visa;

• Health insurance is mandatory: if you are going abroad, most of the overseas partner universities will require that you purchase an overseas health insurance for the duration of your studies;

• Cost of living: if you are going abroad, inform yourself about estimated cost of living;

• Exchange tuition fees: determine your fee status in accordance with the university, you are going to study in (partner or not);

• Extension of study period: you can extend your study period for one more semester;

• Dual degree: under dual degree programs resulting from cooperation between CIAKL II and selected partners, you are able to study and attend classes at both campuses and will be awarded two degrees.

Further Information

• Scholarships and financial assistance. There are financial assistance programs available to students who wish to seek financial support while on exchange. You are advised to explore those various financial aid options.

• International office is in charge of handling all exchange matters and providing advisory and administrative services.

The main aims of the internship are as follows:• to further your academic goals; • to gain practical work experience;• to introduce you to potential future work

environments;• to acquire important supplementary skills;• to make contact with potential future

employers.

have 50 ECTS credit points;• Credit points will not be awarded for

Procedure

INTERSHIP

1. You have two options to choose:• to apply for an exchange semester;• or to do an INTERNSHIP.

2. Find an internship locally or abroad;3. Create an internship resume;4. Find an academic coordinator;5. Apply for an internship at the examination

office;6. Implement the internship;7. Create an internship report and get a

confirmation of a company for it;8. Get a confirmation of an academic

coordinator, that the internship was successfully completed.

Keep in mind

INTERSHIP

• Academic calendar: you have to check the start and end dates of your internship in a company;

• Confidentiality agreement: due to access to confidential information, students enrolled in internships have to sing this agreement.

• Visa requirements: depending on the student´s nationality and the country to go, international interns are required to obtain a student visa.

• Work permit: normally students are automatically given permission to work with their students visas, but in some cases they have to apply for a student work permit.

• Health insurance is mandatory: if you are going to do your internship overseas, it has to be available for health coverage abroad;

• Cost of living: if you are going abroad, please inform yourself about estimated cost of living;

• Extension of internship: you can extend your internship for one more semester, so that you can combine it with your thesis in the company. In this case you have to find an academic coordinator in a company as well;

• Language proficiency: we accept that you speak national or company language at the intermediate level. This is not a language course.
