Human Qualities and EmotionsCreate either a list, diagram or mindmap of the human qualities and emotions explored in Past the Shallows. Then write a few sentences of explanation for each point.

CharacterisationIdentify the main characters.Create a detailed character description of each of the main characters including how each character relates to the module focus of ‘Texts and Human Experiences.’

Anomalies, paradoxes and inconsistenciesWhat anomalies, paradoxes and inconsistencies can you identify in the novel. What do these say about ‘Human Experiences?’

Challenging AssumptionsWhat characters, situations or events challenge our/your assumptions about what it means to be human?

The Role of Storytelling to reflect lives and cultureThis was the focus of your first Assessment Task. Re-write, edit your essay to remove your ORT. Ensure that you add an additional paragraph on another human experience to replace your ORT paragraph. (Remember that you will NOT need to write about an ORT in your Trial or HSC exam.)
