Resolve Steps: (In House / Premises Activity)

Page 30: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

OUT-SIDE PREMISES ACTIVITY

There are 2 stages of out-side premises activity

In-side Exchange Activity (M.D.F Activity)

Out-side Exchange Activity (Media Activity)

Page 31: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

M.D.F ACTIVITY

Check dial tone on given Tag Block Pin Confirm required number by taken CLI Verify jumper not touch other pin or twice in a pin Use Dogger for punch jumper at Tag Block Pin Sure about jumper patch as per standard (Broad Band Tag Block “ A+C “ is C.P side and “ B+D ” is “ N.E” side) Check dial tone at P.T.C.L C.P Tag Block Pin Check dial tone (line) quality (if found earthing / humming then it is issue is main or secondary media) (last mile cable issue could not imagine from tag block )

In-Side Exchange Activity

Page 32: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

Check Dial tone at Cabinet (both pin Main pair and Secondary Pair) Check Voltage from Multimeter (either pair is O.K or low quality) Check line quality from Line Tester (JDSU) If found reading not satisfactory then request to divert main pair As same activity perform at D.P side for confirmation about secondary media is O.K

MEDIA ACTIVITY

After the confirmation from Premises (from Modem to D.P) and M.D.F (Cyber Tag Block to P.T.C.L “ C.P “ Tag Block) Activity should focus to Media Activity.

Out-side Exchange Activity

IDEAL CONNECTION SAMPLE

Page 34: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

There are 4 terminal in Single pin rozit Required terminal for DSL line is 2 onlyAs standard color for two pin rozit are Green and Red terminal

SINGLE PIN ROZIT

Page 35: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

SINGLE PIN ROZIT

We can make 2 pin Rozit to 1 pin Rozit by removing one pin’s terminal from Rozit box

2 Pin Rozit(Single) 1 Pin Rozit

Page 36: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

There are 2 types of 2 Pin Rozits

Direct 2 Pin Rozit Short 2 Pin Rozit

2 Pin Rozit

1) Direct 2 Pin Rozit 2) Short 2 Pin Rozit

Page 37: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

Why should not use 2 Pin Rozit ?

It may be short Some one can short for get extensionShort 2 Pin Rozit consider as extension in lineIf 2 number are use in one 2 Pin Rozit then number can exchangeIn both pin same number may be use

2 Pin Rozit

Modem Status

We can view modem status for check line quality

( like errors, SNR, Attenuation )

Page 39: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

MODEM STATUS

Write modem gate way “ 192.168.1.1 “ on internet explorer address bar

A dialog box will appear as

Page 40: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

Enter user name as “ admin “ and password as “ admin “ press “ OK ”

MODEM STATUS

Page 41: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

Modem internal display will appear as

MODEM STATUS

Page 42: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

If you face any problem to access modem via Gate way (192.168.1.1)even modem is (working) browsing properly then

MODEM STATUS

Write “www.whatismyip.com” on internet explorer address bar

An I.P address will appear Just copy I.P address on explorer address bar A login dialog box will appear Enter login name and password Modem status display will appear as previous

Page 43: MODULE 3 (Fault Diagnose & Resolved Steps)

What is Hunting facility? What is Call transferring facility? Why Bandwidth (Up stream, Down Stream) change or vary? Why Errors (CRC, HEC, FEC) near end or far end?Why SNR varying? Why Attenuation high ? What is standard of SNR and Attenuation
