The first week on

Fashionland’s Next Top

about to pose simple in a

photo and fierce in the other

one. These are some of the

shots in the episode.

Julia Roberts will reincarnate

the wicked queen in the new

movie about the Snow white

(working title); this film will be

on billboards in 2012. This

“Pretty Woman” comes with

passion and glamour at

scenes. Her dresses

possibly are designed by

Eiko Ishioka, fashion designer who

won an Oscar. Just look this photo and surprise yourself.

The fashion film festival “A Shaded

View On Fashion Film (ASVOFF)”

opens the call for short films.

Barcelona hosts the new edition of

this festival this winter. The festival

has managed to consolidate for 4

years in Paris and traveled to Milan,

Tokyo, Cannes and Mexico.

10

Page 11: Modeterre Nº 1

They’re many famous

costumes in the film history, but some of them are memorable.

Do you remember the film “Breakfast at

Tiffany’s” (1961)? If you do, maybe you

remember Audrey Hepburn’s best oufit

designed by Hubert de Givenchny. In the

picture below you have a retro-inspired dress

designed by Orla Kiely.

What about that criticized Marlene Dietrich’s outfit in

Morocco (1930) directed by Josef Von Sternberg?

It was designed in charge of Travis Baton,

scandalized half the world "dressed as a man"

but throws an era in the world of fashion. Today

the tuxedo is reinvented, adapting to new

trends as does Zara in the new Autumn-Winter

2011 collection.

“Sometimes people want to be a model, but they don’t have idea how they can”

When you want to be part of the

Fashion World, you must to follow

some steps:

1. Have a book. It’s very important to

take a lot of shots, but do it with

someone professional of

preference, select your best ones,

and practice your poses all the

time.

2. Improve your runway. This step

is very important, agencies don’t

contract someone with bad

runway, they really care about

this.

3. Visit a lot of go-sees. If you have

not for answer, don’t give it up,

go to another one, keep holding,

because someone is going to see the light in you. Be

yourself all the time, smile and speak clearly.

Remember, you are a star, good luck and have fun!!

15

Page 16: Modeterre Nº 1

A few days ago, one cycle of

NTM finished, we are talking

about Webcon Can Model

Contest All-star edition, but

somebody really surprised

judges all the time and gain

confidence every week, his

name is Felipe Carcamo. Here

is an exclusive interview:

Modeterre: Congratulations,

Felipe Carcamo, you are the

winner of Webcon Can Model

all-star edition (WNTM*). How

can you describe WNTM all-

star edition for you?

Felipe Carcamo: A great

experience, it was 10 weeks of

cries, frustration, joy and

absolutely a great contest

because I enjoyed so much with

my friends.

Modeterre: Fantastic. Do you

realized your evolution in the

show, how do you feel now

about it?

Felipe Carcamo: I think I grew

up a lot in compare with the

cycle 1, because now I'm more

creative. I still can't believe I

won because Abby and Juan

were so great.

Modeterre: What do you

recommender for another

people that want to win a

contest like this one?

Felipe Carcamo: Well I'm not

confident and I fell a lot of

frustration but you have to

enjoy the moment and be

yourself because if you don't

enjoy the situation, you won't

get so far.

Modeterre: Congratulations

again and thanks for the

interview, we hope to see you do

more things soon.

Page 20: Modeterre Nº 1

Rain and Cony were the two girls

that win first place in the 3rd

episode of the show FLNTM, and

they prove you can be sexy and

long at the same time.

Page 21: Modeterre Nº 1

What do you think when you want to be sexy? It’s really hard to be sexy for everyone,

but here are some tips:

Get groomed. Work with what you've got. But keep it neat and tidy. Trim finger and

toe nails weekly, remembering to clean under the nail. No fancy nail polish colors are

needed, but a simple beige color looks delicious.

Style your hair. Make a trip to the hair salon. A new cut or style will make you feel

sexy and confident. Having a change of hair color is nice, too. Go for something natural

and not too dramatic. In the mornings, flat iron your hair or put it in a messy bun,

depending on your style. Adding extensions or a wig can radically change an everyday

look from "ho-hum" to "wow" to turn a few heads. Studies show that most men are more

attracted to longer hair. This is because longer, glossier hair is associated with health.

Get-in-Shape. Create a workout plan. Crunches and lunges equal flat, hard ab

muscles, lunges equal toned legs, and squats equal a toned backside. Running or jogging

works all muscles of the body and increases your stamina. Plus, the hormones your body

releases while exercising carry on through your evening activities to contribute to your

new sexy attitude.

Show your style. Invest in a good pair of curve-hugging jeans. Dark denim looks good

on all body types. Pick some clothes that flatter your figure and that you feel

comfortable in. There's no point picking the latest fashions if you don't feel comfortable

in them. Pick clothes that make you feel like you. Black is sexy. It hides fat curves,

creates curves and makes you feel like a goddess.

21

Page 22: Modeterre Nº 1

“I can't look like

no one and

no one

can look

like me.”

Page 23: Modeterre Nº 1

Fashion has many faces, particularly

things that makes special to a model,

looks are very important, because

every model has one different to

others, and androgynous look is a

special fashion look that is

establishing itself in fashion. Jemjem

as you maybe now as the winner of

ModelMania cycle 2 is one of them,

here is an interview with him:

Modeterre: It’s a pleasure to meet

you Jemjem. What do you think

when you are in a photoshoot?

Jemjem: Ummm... I always create a

character before I do the photoshoot.

So when I'm on set I'll always play

and think like that character, you

know. For example, if I have to do a

high fashion photoshoot, I'll think

that I'm a prince or very rich person.

(Laughs)

Modeterre: That’s really interesting.

We want to know about your

experience in ModelMania, how can

you describe yourself as a winner in

ModelMania cycle 2?

Jemjem: (Laughs) I know it's my

trick. Other models should try on

photoshoot. It’s really helping you to

get an emotion and dramatic feeling.

Okay, I think in Model Mania cycle2

I did everything 'Different' and

'Unique'. Model Mania is my very

first NTM show I've ever done. So I

don't know that everyone gonna like

or hate my photo. So I just do my

thing, be myself and different from

everyone you've ever seen in the

NTM world.

Modeterre: What do you think makes

you special and different front other

ones?

Jemjem: First of all, my look. I'm an

Asian. You can't find many Asian

models on NTM show, you know. And

I'm not normal 'Asian model' because

I have an 'Androgynous' look. The

way I pose and everything I do in my

photo can make people confused that

I'm a boy or a girl. (Laughs) I can't

look like no one and no one can look

like me.

Modeterre: In this business

androgynous look is fantastic for

example Andrej Pejic,

Jemjem: But also limited.

Modeterre: Do you have an

inspiration model?

Jemjem: Of cause I do. And I gotta

say I have a lot.

Modeterre: Which one is your

favorite?

Jemjem: Andrej Pejic for sure. We

belong to the same type of model. To

be an androgynous model, you have

to be strong because you have to deal

with so many bad critiques. And

Andrej is the one who makes me

strong.

Modeterre: Actually one of the best

models nowadays. What do you

recommender for those models that

are starting in this business?

Jemjem: First of all, you have to

know yourself. You have to figure out

what's type of model you are. Also

find your strong and weak point to

deal with it and make it work! And

the most important thing is 'Be

yourself and be confident as who you

are'.

Modeterre: Good advices. It was an

honor accepting this interview,

thanks and we hope to see you doing

more things soon.
