~ CCRR & First 5 will be merging for their annual conferences. The ~,,~ conferences will be changing to August & February, so that they can be ~•• offered every 6 months. The focus this year will be the Preschool ~,,~ Foundations 1- Math (Aug.) & Science (Feb.). They are currently ~" looking for presenters/speakers. "

~ - Tanya Vander Weide- She asked about Early HS Home Based time ~-'""~ for socialization. Can they use the MJC Toddler Lab on days when not ~

~ in use? They need a place for to meet once a month. Rosemary ~~ Sandoval (Empire) offered that they have a building that is being used ~• only 2 times per month. "

Laurie Hatch told her about the 2 unit Mentoring class ••~ offered here at MJC. Janet Chisler suggested the Administration Class. ~~~ Debbie Laffranchini offered suggestion of mentoring at site, offering ~,,~ students opportunities to talk to parents. Mandy Jenkins offered the ~~ suggestion of need for continuing trainings. Tanya VanderWeide ••~ suggested that maybe in the future; SCOE could have a workshop ~~~ focused on Adult relationships. - Course recency - Laurie hatch brought up the subject of courserecency. Laurie passed out three sheets of paper with the courses fromthe past. It was discussed that CLDDV 245 & CLDDV 249 are now theonly old ciasses being used for equivalency. There are 2 masterTeacher Specialization certificates built into the degree.InformationlWarning will be posted on Black Board and Website now!!

- New assembly bill requires Community Colleges to have 60 unitdegrees by Fall 2014 (AA-T or AS-T). This is basically the old teacherpermit with General Education.

- Debbie Laffranchini offered that starting next year, there will be aStudent Success Initiative. If you already have 90 units, you can't getFAFSA, and there may be a cap on W's.

- Laurie Hatch wanted to let the group know that Mandy Jenkins receivedthe award for Favorite workshop this year from CARE Program.

- Pam talked about the extensive summer school offerings this year. Aflyer was passed around with all the summer classes offered.
