Paul Warner Head of Portfolio Management

In 1972, Paul embarked on a career in the investmentindustry at Grieveson Grant stock brokers in the City ofLondon. He chose to specialise in collective investments in1978, setting up and running a unit trust discretionary portfoliomanagement service (UTDPMS). Paul joined Stock Beech &Co, Bristol stockbrokers in 1980 before moving to CharterhallManagement Services in 1987, establishing a UTDPMS ateach company respectively.

In 1991, Paul founded Minerva Fund Managers where he wasresponsible for managing portfolios both for individuals andthird party funds on a discretionary basis. In 1994, Paul beganto run discretionary SRI Portfolios for clients before launchingan additional series of model portfolios in 2006 which includedboth SRI and Ethical Portfolios for clients of introducing IFAs.

Following MitonOptimal’s acquisition of Minerva in 2017, Paulnow acts as Head of Portfolio Management for the ModelPortfolio Service and is a member of the Chartered Institutefor Securities & Investment.

Sarah Warner Analyst

Following the acquisition of Minerva Fund Managers in 2017,Sarah joined MitonOptimal as part of the fund managementteam. Sarah’s role encompasses the research anddevelopment of investment ideas, fund due diligence andplatform administration.

Sarah graduated from Cardiff University with a degree inpsychology as well as a Master’s degree in social work. Morerecently, as a Chartered member of the CISI, Sarah hasachieved various accreditations including the Diploma inInvestment Compliance and Level 6 Certificate in PrivateClient Investment Advice & Management.

Peter Geikie-Cobb Director, Fund Manager

Peter was Managing Director of Matterley, the fundmanagement division of Charles Stanley, from 2015 to 2016where he also managed the Bond Opportunities Fund. From2003 he served as a Partner and Fund Manager at ThamesRiver Capital LLP until May 2014. In 2002, Peter was Head ofGlobal Fixed Income at Insight Investment, managing retailand institutional mandates. From 1992 to 2002, he heldvarious positions at Mercury Asset Management and MerrillLynch Investment Managers including Head of EuropeanBonds, Chairman of the Fixed Income Investment OfficersGroup, Investment Officer for Global Fixed Income, andManaging Director. Peter managed institutional mandates andonshore and offshore funds. Prior to that, he managed globalbond mandates at Baring Asset Management. Peter startedhis investment management career in 1985 with AallInvestment Management.

Peter joined MitonOptimal in 2018, joining James Sullivan asco-manager on the Optimal multi-asset funds as well assitting on the International Investment ManagementCommittee.

James Sullivan Managing Director, Fund Manager

James co-founded Coram Asset Management in 2014 whichwas subsequently acquired by MitonOptimal International in2016.

James is Managing Director of the UK business and isresponsible for managing the multi-asset funds and sits on theInternational Investment Management Committee.

James has worked in financial services since 1999 as afounding member of iimia plc. Growth of the business saw theacquisition of Exeter Fund Managers, Miton AssetManagement and Midas Capital Partners and rebranded asMiton Group plc.

James was appointed co-manager of the Miton SpecialSituations and Miton Strategic Portfolios in 2008, until hisdeparture from the group in 2014.

The Risk Profiled Model Portfolio Service offers clients a selection of multi-assetmodel portfolios along the risk spectrum.

By blending active and passive collective investment strategies, and employing ourrating and risk profiling systems, we believe we have fashioned an efficient servicefor clients wishing to have a more risk focused proposition at their disposal.

The Cornerstone Service provides a multi-asset solution for the more cost sensitiveclient, with a tapered annual management fee being applied.

The service offers clients a selection of multi-asset model portfolios which use one ofthe Optimal Multi Asset funds as the cornerstone of the portfolio.

The Optimal fund will offer multi-asset diversification with the rest of the portfoliopopulated using external funds, leveraging off our core funds from our conventionalModel Portfolio Service.

Optimal is the fund management arm of the MitonOptimal UK Limited and currentlyoffers three global multi-asset funds. The funds each reside within the IA sectors andare mandated to produce real returns with low volatility.
