MODEL HW-02145
Ka-Band D ownc onverter
EESS BAND FREQUENCY DOWNCONVERTER
Main FunctionalityThe HW-02145 series of downconverters operating in the Ka-EESS band offer the best quality and performance available on the market:
X Synthesized downconverter. X Converts any 700 MHz channel in the
EESS 25.5 - 27 GHz band to L-band. X Highly increased level of design modularity, resulting
in very high reliability and very low spurious behavior.
X Automatic 10 or 100 MHz external reference switchover.
X RF, IF and internal LO monitoring ports are available.
Applications X High bit-rate (> 10 Mbps) TT&C. X EESS high bit-rate (Gbps) data reception chains.
Key Benefits X Excellent phase noise w.r.t. CCSDS 401 (4.2.18) B-3
recommendation for 4D-8PSK-TCM.
Transfer Characteristics X Nominal Gain: 18 dB ± 0.5 dB X Gain slope: 0.1 dB / 10 MHz X Gain flatness:
• ± 0.5 dB over output frequency range
• ± 1 dB over RF input band
X Gain range: 6 - 30 dB X Gain step size: 0.5 dB X Level stability: ± 0.5 dB at 23 °C X Output P1 dB: + 7 dBm min. X Noise figure: 15 dB at nominal gain X LO mute: 60 dB min. X Image rejection: 60 dB min. X IM3 rejection: - 30 dBc at - 7 dBm TOP
Ka-Band Down converterThe Ka-band Earth Exploration Satellite Service (EESS) down- converter is specifically de-signed for the high data rate throughput in Earth Obser-vation satellite missions. The minimum amplitude variation and group delay variation are provided over the complete 700 MHz operational band-width resulting in the least BER degradation contribution. In addition, the phase noise performance is the best avail-able on the market.
X Group delay response over ± 350 MHz:
• Parabolic: < 1 nspp
• Ripple: < 1 nspp
INTERFACES X RF input:
• WR34 waveguide
• FBP260 flange X RF test output: 2.9mm female X IF output: 50Ω SMA female X IF test output: 50Ω SMA female X M&C: RJ45, TCP/IP
Minimum BER DegradationLess than 1 dBpp amplitude variation and less than 1 ns parabolic group delay variation over 700 MHz band-width to assure minimum system BER degradation:
Environmental & Power X Operating temperature: + 10 °C to + 45 °C X Storage temperature: - 20 °C to + 60 °C X Relative humidity: 10 % to 90 % non condensing X The equipment is CE compliant X Power Supply: 90 V - 260 V, 47 - 63 Hz, 40 W max
Physical Dimensions X The Ka-band downconvertor is a 1 U high, 19” rack-
mount equipment with back-lit LCD display and ruggedized navigation and control keys
X Dimensions (W x H x D): 43.7 x 4.4 x 55.0 cm X Weight: 10 kg max
X Spurious outputs:
• Signal related: - 60 dBc min. at - 7d Bm output
• Mains related: - 45 dBc
• Harmonics: - 55 dBc max. at - 7 dBm output X LO leakage: - 80 dBm max.
Specifications X Standard 5 MHz and 50 kHz step sizes available X TCP/IP remote control interface
