1. INTRODUCING THE GALVANIC ISOUTOR

ihe Guest Model 2433P Ga'ranic isolator is installed in your boat, arJi'i etectricali}connected between the beat’s AC panel ground and the dockside AC gfouiid wire.

The Galvanic isolator is cosignad to permit AC ground currents to pass safel}between tine boat and tho dockside, but to block the small DC currents that can flovin seawater bstvrsan boats in amarina tecause diffarant metals on the boats are irthe water.

Experience has shewn that the differoni metals (steel vs. a!uminum, for exampleactually become the eectrodes of abotory. The battery fluid is the aeawaler. /direct electrical connection of your beat's hull ground to “he dock ground passes orto tt're hull of anearby boat, and becomes astiorl circail to tfic sreawater battery. Sccunrente flow between the different rnctals, and actually cause movement of metajust like aplatirrg bath. You may lose metal off your prop shaft or prop bladebecause of these currents, or you may suffer accelerated corrosion of some boaparts. If your boat is protected by zincs, they may erode vsrv quickly,

The Gatyanifi Isoialor is apssive device in that it iias its control fuitciioris, bill onl;serves to block the Galvanic currents between boats. It stops the aac-ltjrateccorrasion caused by these currento and preserves the usefulnes.s of importartt boaaccessories and zincs.

A§rs0n LED is illuminated wfien ttic Status Monitoring deiermiries ttiat bolii internaand external conclilicns are safe. Ared LED is iiluminated when either art internafault orexleiTia! shore ground unsafe condition exists.

ZINSTALLING THE GALVANIC ISOLATORLocat ionThe Guest Model 2433P Galvanic Isolator should be mounted in the boat hulydjarrent to the sfiore power connector sc that no part of (he grounding systerrbypasses the isolator Tiiis locaticjrr must be ventilated, dry and in an acnessiblfl oca t i on .

MountingHcJd the case against ihe bulkhead wall, and mark lfi& slots with apend. Driilmountirg holes for a#10 screw i;n the slot areas you have marked. Ttien moufit arsdfasten the Mccel 2433^ to the bulkhead. Depending upon your boat's constfuctioayou may wish to mount the Galvanic Isolator using either setf-tapping screws, orcommon machine screws, washers and nuts. We recommend using stainless steel#10 fasten&'s if possible. The case of the Guest Model 2433P is flame-retardantABG plastic.

Warnii i}>:Avoid serious injitry or death Irani electrical shock.

Before opening panel and installation, turn off AC power supply.

AC Connect ionsThe Mode! 2433P Gafvariic Isolator shall be connected in series with the ACgrounding system adjacent to the shcre power connection. The external tinnedcopper cars used for the SHORE GND and BOAT GNO iem’iinals eachaccommodate aV2 machine screw to clasp ring terminals. Crimp your ground wires{SHORE and BOAT) into suital'le ring teinkiials, and claso bete^en the brass bolts, nuts and washers provided.Tightening Torque:200 Inch pounds on Boat GND and Shore GND terminsis.Status Monitoring ConnectionsThe Model 2433P Galvanic Isolator uses bolh the boat +12VDC and the shore

power AC neutral (white wire) connectiGn for mos'itofing, Connect these powersources to the V" fasten terminals on the case as marked using minurnym 16 AWGwire,

location to the galvanic isolator and cut 2pieces of 16 AWG black and red wirn tcthat lenglti.

3. Connect the 16 AWG red wire to tne anodes of the l,EDs and connect IB AWGblack wire io the cathodes of fne LEDs.
