35 years ago, the original PREP® Paediatrics Review and Education program was created by experts at the American Academy of Pediatrics. It has become the gold standard for paediatric lifelong learning introduced in residency programs and paramount to both generalists and subspecialists.

Whether you need to satisfy ABP Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements, stay current with state of the art CME, or review with authoritative content for exam preparation, PREP has you covered—with self-assessment products in general paediatrics and 10 areas of specialty care.

Find the PREParation you need within these pages. Paediatric subspecialists can take advantage of special multi-year packages or group rates (see page 6).

Join your colleagues in using PREP as a fun way to test your skills, fill learning gaps, and stay on top of your professional goals.

CME Accreditation

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Minimum Performance Level: Per the 2010 revision of the American Medical Association (AMA) Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA) and credit system, a minimum performance level must be established on enduring material and journal-based CME activities that are certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

In order to successfully complete the general paediatrics PREP® Self-Assessment CME activity for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 70% or higher on the self-assessment, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity.

In order to successfully complete the PREP® Subspecialty Self-Assessment CME activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 60% or higher on the self-assessment, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity.

In order to successfully complete NeoReviews™ and Pediatrics in Review® journal-based CME activities for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, learners must demonstrate a minimum performance level of 60% or higher on the post-article quiz, which measures achievement of the educational purpose and/or objectives of the activity.

PREP Self-Assessments are built for professional development with learning occurring upon review and study of the critiques; the initial score achieved represents knowledge without the benefit of reading the learning component. After reading the rationale and evidence for the preferred answers, learners are able to reset the assessment and take it repeatedly as a post-test to measure their progress and achieve the minimum passing score.

The content of this CME activity does not necessarily represent the official opinion of the AAP, indicate an exclusive course of treatment, or serve as a standard of medical care.

CME Credit Information for Specific Products:

PREP The Curriculum (Page 2) is acceptable for a maximum of 76.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

PREP Self-Assessment:

The AAP designates this enduring material for a maximum of 40.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Financial Disclosure

Disclosure of Financial Relationships and Resolution of Conflicts of Interest

The AAP Policy on Disclosure of Financial Relationships and Resolution of Conflicts of Interest is designed to ensure quality, objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous AAP CME activities. All individuals in a position to influence and/or control the content of AAP CME activities are required to disclose to the AAP and subsequently to learners that they either have no relevant financial relationships or any financial relationships with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) and/or provider(s) of commercial services discussed in CME activities. All potential conflicts of interest are identified and resolved prior to an individual’s confirmation of service at an AAP CME activity. Beyond disclosure of financial relationships, AAP CME faculty are required to disclose to the AAP and to learners when they plan to discuss or demonstrate pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices and/or medical or surgical procedures that involve “off-label” use of a device or pharmaceutical. The AAP is committed to providing learners with commercially unbiased CME activities.
