Pilot - Basic info
The pilot is set in the City of Novi Sad, Serbia
It is funded by EU as one of four pilots across European
cities

Pilot aims are:
•To demonstrate the mobile payment in public transport utilising the QR code, augmented reality (AR) and optical validation.
•To provide a multimodal transport through integration of two transport means (busses and rental bikes)
•To demonstrate interoperability of payment systems for different transport means

Initial phase with 20 participants, followed by 50 in the
second phase and 100-200 in the final phase

Detailed scenario being agreed and aligned with City of Novi Sad and JGSP
12 busses equipped with the devices
Back-end server set-up, web services, DB, visualisation
Smartphone application prototype developed (updated UX )
ekoNET service also included in the scenario
Manuals for operators and end-users completed with terms and conditions
included (part of D4.1)

Based on the use of QR code bus stop stickers and a dedicated mobile app
23 volunteers chosen from partners’ institutions (JGSP, City of Novi Sad and DunavNET)
Baseline survey conducted
Two options for validators
• External (statically mounted on the bus)
• Integrated within the mobile application (user validates ticket)
MobiWallet mobile app (mTicketing) in testing phase, soon to be published on Google Play

Fraud protection
• Mobile ticket has three characteristics which ensure the ticket cannot be misused:
– The number of a bus where the ticket is validated
– Timer which counts down from 30’ down and thus prevents copying the ticket on other phones
– Colour coding of tickets: gray invalidated; green valid , red upon validation expiration
