AN OASIS OF PEACE

Sometimes one needs a breathing space: a calm refuge away from everything and everyone else.

No noise, no one around, and especially no curious eyes. A space for oneself amidst among the colours,

scents and silence of nature, with jasmine climbing on the wooden trellis, the stream flowing beyond the

fence and wind caressing the leaves of the bamboo. Enjoying the feeling of having all the time in the

world.

EINE OASE DER RUHE

Eine Stätte der Zuflucht ist manchmal einfach nötig. Kein Lärm, keine Leute und vor allem keine neugierigen

Blicke. Ein persönlicher Freiraum inmitten der Farben, Düfte und Stille der Natur. Nur der Jasmin, der sichauf den Holzgittern hochrankt, das Bächlein, das auf der anderen Seite des Zauns dahin fließt und

der Wind, der die Bambusblätter streichelt. Und das Gefühl, alle Zeit der Welt für sich zu haben.

UNE OASIS DE TRANQUILLITÉ

Nous en avons parfois besoin : un refuge loin de tout. Pas de bruit, personne dans les parages, et surtout

WOOD, A LIVING MATERIAL

Wood is alive, it moves and is subject to continuous trans-formation in the course of time. Its feel, colour and scentprovide unique sensations. However, unlike steel andcement, wood has characteristic marks, often incorrectlyconsidered as defects, which interrupt the chromaticregularity or the continuity of the sur face.

The PEFC certification provides the assurance that the company is committed to thesustainable management of forests. The use of timber, regulated

by international agreements, favours the reforestation and rejuvenation of our forests,guaranteeing the production of oxygen that only young plants can supply to theeco-system. If we compare the production of timber with that of other materials, wecan immediately see that there is minimum emission of pollutants during processing.Furthermore, all production waste is used as fuel for our power plant, producingenergy for the company itself.In its everyday work, our company follows Reinhard Pircher‘s teaching and is commit-ted to the promotion of the culture of wood, proposing its use as a natural and tradi-tional alternative to modern building materials.

SHRINKAGE SPLITS

Split phenomena are often interpreted as signs of breaking oryielding, while in reality they are the result of the wood drying upwith consequent loss of water in environments that are excessivelydry or exposed to direct heat sources.Knowledge helps to understand what shrinkage splits are: these

marks, as well as knots and chromatic irregularities, are normalsigns of the vitality of wood and are part of the beauty of thisnatural material.

IMPREGNATION SECRETS

Impregnation quality depends on many factors: raw wood quality and degree ofmaturation at the moment of the treatment; the availability of functional technicalsystems and rigorous monitoring during all impregnation phases; verifying thecorrect penetration depth and impregnating agent fixing. Tartaruga only uses nor-dic pinewood, the most suitable for the impregnation treatment, and carries outthe treatment with full respect for the environment, in compliance with RAL qualitystandards, continuously monitored by authorised personnel.

Tartaruga products are guaranteed on condition that:• they are used according to the class involved;• they are not placed in the vicinity of mulch;• they are not reprocessed, sawn or cut longitudinally;• the foundations for products to be set in the ground are performed according to the law, with a layer of gravel
