That being said, you have only one shot to make this year great. So make it happen! In this issue, you’ll find some good resources to help start your year right.

The last edition of the treasurer’s newsletter explored the steps towards paying dues. But here are some helpful hints to get
your clubs started off right since this can be a tedious process!
Paying Dues
Tips for a Successful Year
Meet with your school book keeper!
Oftentimes, dues get lost the mail or end up being late
because Key Clubs fail to get in contact with the school book
keeper. This is an important step!Failure to communicate can
cost your clubs.
Have clubbers fill out an information sheet during the first few meetings with their name,
grade, gender, office held, and contact information.
This makes it easier to send out reminders about when dues
need to be paid and will be used in the membership update
center.
The Early Bird Gets The WormSend your dues to international one or two weeks in advance
before the deadline. Remember, your first dues
payment must be received by international by November 1st.
However, members can be added throughout the year.
Please encourage your clubs to add members throughout the
year, even if the dues payment has already been sent. Our
goal should be to increase our membership all year!

Active and Inactive Club Status
Clubs that doesn’t pay dues by ICON are
designated with inactive club status. To be
removed from inactive status, a club must pay the
$100 reactivation fee along with dues for the
current year. If a club fails to pay dues for then 2
years in a row, they will be given suspended status in which they have to pay the
$600 reactivation fee.

Club Update
Suspended and Inactive Clubs
If you think one of these clubs are in your area, get in touch with the local Kiwanis club and see what you can do to help. Chances are, these clubs have no leadership and could use an LTG to step in and
help them gain some structure back. Clubs in yellow are inactive, whereas clubs in red are suspended. Refer to the previous page for
details. Avoid having your clubs added to the list!
