-Once there was a Prince.

-His name was Ram.

(He was a God in shape of human)

-Due to some reasons, his father asked him to live in a forest for 14 years.

-His brother Lakshman & his Sita also went with him.


• They spent initial 13 years happily ,helping people & animal in forest.

• In 14th year ,a 10-headed demon took away Sita, when she was alone at home.

• Demon name was Ravna

• He was king of demons


• They searched for Sita in whole forest

• They met a friend named Hanuman.

( He was also a god ,in shape of monkey)

• Hanuman helped Ram to make an army of animals


• Ram’s army killed Ravna

& defeated his army

• They got Sita back

• 14 years also were completed, so returned back to their kingdom


• Whole kingdom celebrated by decorating every home & place with lights

• These lights are called Deep in Hindi, that is why this festival is known as Deepawali, row of lamps)


• This festival is also called Diwali or Festival of Lights

• People burn crackers & eat sweets
