News –The latest technology in every class

The performance and reliability of a power

supply is critical to the operation of today´s

    complex control systems. Phoenix Contact

power supplies are designed to meet and

exceed the demands of modern control

systems in order to ensure optimum

sTep poWerThe new device series is ideal for installation in distributor boards and lowprofile control panels. Now available with double power density and high energy efficiency with ten devices offered in four different pitches.

QuinT poWerThese highly functional devices are equipped with Power Boost, preventive function monitoring and Selective Fusebreaking Technology (SFB) and are now available in 12 and 48 VDC versions as well.

Trio poWer TRIO POWER is used in series applications. The new 24 V / 5 A is a flexible device that can be operated with two and three-phase mains connection. New areas of application open up with 12 and 48 VDC output voltages.

mini poWer Used in distributed automation, this power supply unit with an integrated UPS provides a buffer time of up to 45 minutes. It also features extensive signaling and optimized battery management.

Compact power supply units of the new

    QUINT POWER generation maximize

    system availability. Even standard power

    circuit-breakers can be triggered quickly

and reliably with SFB technology (Selective

    Fusebreaking Technology) with six times

the nominal current for 12 ms. Defective

    current paths are selectively disconnected,

the defect is limited and the important

    system parts remain in operation.

A comprehensive diagnosis is made by

    continuously monitoring the output voltage

    and current. This preventive function

    monitoring visualizes the critical operating

modes and reports them to the control

    unit before an error occurs.

    QUINT POWER guarantees superior

    system availability.

QUINT POWER power supply units – Superior system availability with SFB technology

efficiently selective protection with sfb technology

In order to be able to trigger standard power circuit-breakers magnetically and quickly, power supply units must be able to supply a multiple of the nominal current for a short period. With the SFB technology (Selective Fusebreaking Technology), six times the nominal current for 12 ms, this current reserve is always available.

Worn display cable: The fuse triggers; the lower level display is dark. The control unit and the sensor and actuator systems continue to operate without any interruption. The production continues.

QUINT POWER power supply units offer

functional advantages in an especially slim

design. The unique SFB technology and the

    extended preventive function monitoring

    increase application availability.

QUINT POWER power supply units – For superior system availability

    Compensation of voltage dips

    preventive function monitoring

Reports the critical operating states before any error occurs by continuously monitoring the output voltage and current

Remote monitoring using active switching outputs and floating relay contacts

    service-friendly connection technology

COMBICON connectors (up to and including 10 A)

    reliable starting of heavy loads

static power reserve POWER BOOST contiuous with up to 1.5 times the nominal current

    Slim design

saves up to 50% space in the control cabinet

    rugged design

Metal housing and wide temperature range of -25 to +70°C

Third minus terminal as grounding terminal block

    minimize the installation costs

Quick triggering of the commercial power circuit-breakers

Dynamic power reserve SFB technology (Selective Fusebreaking Technology) with six times the nominal current for 12 ms

Output voltage can be set on the front side

A voltage range of 5 ... 60 V DC is covered with three power supply units with output voltages of 12, 24 and 48 V DC

Worldwide use due to wide-range input and international approvals

high operational reliability due to high MTBF > 500.000 h and long mains buffering times > 20 ms, high voltage resistance of single-phase devices up to 300 V AC

To connect in parallel to increase power and achieve redundancy

semi f47-200 meets the requirements of the semiconductor industry as regards mains voltage dips

Wide temperature range from -25 to +70°C

    outdoor installation

    For installation distributors and flat

operatorl panels, STEP POWER, the new

family of power supply units, is the ideal

choice. The low power dissipation in idling

mode and high degree of efficiency make

for maximum power efficiency in their

    class.

  • Uninterruptible power supply units (UPS)

provide power even if the mains fails.

    An uninterruptible solution consists of

    three functional units.

Uniterruptible power supply units – The ideal solution at a glance

select the desired buffer time as well as the required load current. The color code gives you the ideal solution.

20 A shall be buffered for 10 min. The color code “orange” indicates the solution of the electronic switchover unit QUINT-DC-UPS/24DC/20A in combination with the energy storage QUINT-BAT/24DC/7.2AH. An additional power supply unit is required.

    example

    Energy storage

flexible• : QUINT DC-UPS 20 or 40 A in combination with 3.4, 7.2 or 12 Ah, modular combination of electronic switchover unit and energy storage

retrofitting made easy:• QUINT DC-UPS 10 A, electronic switchover unit with integrated battery as energy storage

space-saving:• MINI DC-UPS, com-bines power supply unit and electronic switchover unit in the same housing

maintenance-free: • Buffer module, energy storage capacitor-based for short-term failures
