MNP jointly with Tian Wu Asia Collection Society have successfully organized an Asian Antique Seminar for its members at the secretariat (Shah Alam, Selangor) of Tian Wu Asia on 19 May from 2pm to 5pm. A rare imperial Chinese vase which spent years gathering dust in an attic has sold for more than £14million after a fierce bidding war. The piece, left to the seller’s grandparents by an uncle in 1947, was carried into Sotheby’s in Paris inside a shoebox. Specialist Olivier Valmier recognised it as a Yangcai Famille-Rose bearing a mark from the reign of the Qianlong Emperor. The porcelain piece, from the mid to late 18th century, is the only known example of its kind and was made by the Jingdezhen workshops for the ruler’s courts…. The rare piece was originally

expected to sell for as little as £ 430,000 but a fierce bidding war saw the price rocket

The blue and white teapot turned out to be one of the first pieces of porcelain ever made in America 250 years ago A bargain hunter who bought a broken porcelain teapot for £15 is celebrating today after it sold for a whopping £575,000.

The blue and white teapot turned out to be one of the first pieces of porcelain ever made in America 250 years ago. It was the work of British expat John Bartlam, a potter who took his trade across the Atlantic to show the Americans how to make porcelain. His work was so well regarded that Josiah Wedgwood feared it would threaten their exports. But Bartlam's enterprise was cut short by the American Revolution and hardly any examples of his work exist today…
