The Conscious, Subconscious and Unconscious Minds

To successfully manage your Unconscious requires that you have effective two waycommunication with it.

Very few people have developed that skill.

Thats why learning to effectively communicate with your Unconscious Mind is the subject of thisBonus.

Here are a couple important definitions.

Imagine a great big circle. Whats within that circle represents your Unconscious Mind (andwhats outside represents everything else including the collective Unconscious, the sprit realm andthe God realm).

Within that big circle, imagine a very small circle defined by fairly thick line. Whats within thatvery small circle represents your Conscious Mind.

The fairly thick line that divides your Conscious Mind from your Unconscious represents yourSubconscious Mind. The Subconscious Mind contains whats on the edge of consciousawareness.

    Just one more definition.

There is a constant massive stream of communication from your Unconscious Mind, across yourSubconscious Mind into your Conscious Mind. I call this the Stream of Consciousness.

Normally, we are consciously aware of a only a tiny aspect of the Stream of Consciousness. Buthallucinogenic drugs, such as LSD, can make one consciously aware of much more of the Streamof Consciousness. Some people who tried LSD couldnt handle that and went mad, literally andirretrievably.

Normally, self-supporting Unconscious habit patterns protect us from becoming consciouslyaware of too many aspects of this Stream of Consciousness but hallucinogenics can overwhelmthose protections.

One way of thinking of the Stream of Consciousness is as a massive river.

Imagine that as you are standing on one bank of this river, you see many logs and bits offlotsam floating past you. Obviously, you cant simultaneously comprehend very much ofthat flow.

But if you focus on one log, carefully inspecting it, you can see great detail. While you dothat, your awareness of the rest of whats floating on the river and the river itself becomesa blur.

Similarly, if you consciously focus on one thing in the Stream of Consciousness, you becomeincreasingly aware of that one thing.

This happens because the very act of consciously focusing on something sends feedback to yourUnconscious that what youre focusing on is of conscious interest to you. Your Unconsciousresponds by sending more about that something into your Conscious Mind via the Stream ofConsciousness.

    Consciously Dialoguing with Your Unconscious

Everything that enters your conscious mind comes from your Unconscious. Any thoughts, images, sounds or other awarenesses that enter your conscious mind, thus, come from your unconscious.

Thus, when you ask a question of your unconscious, whatever immediately pops into yourconscious mind is the answer.

Your conscious job is to grab ahold of and document that answer, even if it seems to be a blank ora hazy awareness.

Then, via the Color Process and/or the Tune-Up Process, you will be able to turn any less thanfully clear and understandable communication from your Unconscious into a fully clear andunderstandable one.

Turning a Blank or a Hazy Communication from Your Unconscious into aClear and Understandable Communication via the Color and Tune-UpProcesses

Always assume that when, via your Inner Anchor Point, you ask your Unconscious a question orask it to do something, it will instantly respond. Instantly!

If you have not yet performed the Locating Your Inner Anchor Point Process (which is coveredin the next Segment of the Cybernetic Transposition Multimedia Learning Program), ask viayour Heart Chakra - the center of your chest until you have completed locating your InnerAnchor Point.

In either case, if you dont perceive the response, its because the response isnt properlyformatted, as required to consciously understand it.

This is because your Unconscious hasnt yet learned how to properly format these types ofcommunications so they are consciously clear and understandable.

In summary, doing the Color Process that I describe below is the first step in resolving acommunication from your unconscious that comes across as a blank or a hazy awareness into aclear and understandable one.

The second step is to do a Tune-Up Process.

    The Color Process

Did you know that a headache is very often a communication from your unconscious, one thatalmost no one knows how to consciously understand?

    Well, it is.

Thus, a rather reliable way of curing many headaches is by getting the communication via theColor Process.

Try this the next time you have a headache.

Focus on the headache and imagine it has a color. Determine what that is and record it on paper.

Then imagine that the headache has a physical volume and determine how much water it wouldtake to fill it. Record what that is.

Next imagine that the headache has a temperature that you can estimate and record thattemperature in degrees Fahrenheit or Centigrade. Record what that is.

Finally, imagine that the headache is making a sound and record what that is.

Repeatedly do this process until the headache disappears.

Normally, this requires 3 to 5 cycles and, in the process for example, the color goes from red orblack to clear, the liquid volume goes to zero, the temperature goes from high to low and the soundgoes from an agonizing or complaining one to a gentle and soothing one or none at all. And whenyou reach that point, youll usually find that your headache has disappeared.

In that process, youre doing two things that make the Color Process work.

First, in order to imagine the color, volume, temperature and sound of the headache, you mustintensely focus on your experience of the headache for some time. In the process, you veryeffectively Frame the headache, indicating clearly to your Unconscious what is of interest to you.

In other words, youre consciously separating your headache from everything else in yourconscious awareness.

However, there is one more important aspect of the Color Process that I havent yet described andit is really key.

The headache was a message from your Unconscious to your Conscious Mind. Think of it as theringer on your telephone. When your phone rings, it will continue ringing until either you answer itor your voicemail system does.

In similar fashion, when you actually consciously receive the message from your Unconscious, theheadache stops.

Of course, the ringing tone is not the message just as the headache is not the message.

You can usually greatly benefit by actually getting the message that your Unconscious is trying tosend to your Conscious Mind when it gives you a headache.

Thats usually pretty easy to do once you have repeatedly Framed the headache sufficiently so thatyour Unconscious dissolves it.

Just focus on your Inner Anchor Point (or, if you have not yet located your Inner Anchor Point, your Heart Chakra - the center of your chest and silently say to your Unconscious, What is themessage that you were sending me when you sent the headache?

The answer will usually immediately pop into your Conscious Mind. Record that answer on paperand then, in similar fashion, ask your Unconscious, Is what I wrote down the message you sent?

If the answer is, yes, your conscious job is to consider and, if appropriate, act on that message.

If the answer is, no or maybe, ask your Unconscious to give you the real message, record itand check whether thats what it sent. Usually one or two times through this cycle will get you thereal message.

Congratulations. If you did what I suggested, you have just consciously Dialogued with yourUnconscious.

Getting back to the Color Process, it really works. No kidding!

For example, the other day I accompanied Gloria, my wife, to the local BMW dealershipbecause her lease had expired and she had to decide whether to buy her car out of thelease or to lease a new one.

After helping Gloria to Frame what she liked about her favorite car of all time, a yellowMercedes 450SL convertible that she owned some years ago, my job was done.

When we arrived at the BMW dealer, I gave her space to explore the available cars withone of the salesmen, a knowledgeable and courteous Russian fellow named Pavel. I didntwant to influence her choice because, being a car nut, a former sports car racer, I havestrong opinions about cars.

While waiting, I saw a couple of middle aged female sales people sitting outside. So, withnothing else to do, I walked up and said, Hi. Beautiful day but a little warm isnt it? Oneof them answered, Its hot and I have a terrible headache. I wish I had some Advil but Idont. I replied, I dont have any either but would you like to try something a little nuttythat will probably resolve your headache?

Somewhat timorously, she said, Yeeeessssss. So I led her through the Color Process afew times. In three minutes, no more headache and her Unconscious had told her to drinktwo glasses of water.

A Little More About the Color Process

As you try to imagine the headaches color, your Unconscious responds by sending youinformation about the color.

As you focus on that color sufficiently to name it and translate that name into written form, you aresending more information to your Unconscious about what youre focusing on and it replies withthe desired information.

Implicitly you had previously been sending to your Unconscious the message, I dont like orwant this headache.

So when you effectively Frame your headache in visual (color), kinesthetic (liquid volume andtemperature) and auditory (sound it makes) ways, you very effectively tell your Unconscious whatyou didn't like or want.

And, since your Unconscious always wants the best for you, it probably responded by eliminatingthe headache.

    The Tune-Up Process

If the Communications from your unconscious to your conscious mind are not adequatelyclear and concrete, it is because your unconscious has not yet learned how to format itsCommunications to your conscious mind in a way that makes them clear and concrete.

Thus, it is your conscious job to give your unconscious feedback that will guide it toformatting its Communications to your conscious mind in ways that makes them clear andunderstandable to your conscious mind.

You can most effectively do that via the Tune-Up Process

Here how the Tune-Up Process works:

    1. Rate the clarity and concreteness of your Communication using the 1 to 10 scale definedabove, where a 10 is what you need.

    2. If your rating is less than a 10, record the Communication.

    3. Review what you just wrote about the Communication. Then record how yourexperience of the Communication would have to be changed to bring them to a 10.

For example, you might have written down the Communication, An idea.

Say that your rating of the clarity and understandability of that is a 4.

I need to know what idea, what its about, how it is relevant in order for me to rate ita 10 in clarity and understandability.

    4. Read your rating that you just wrote (step 3 above) into your Inner Anchor Point. Nextread into your Inner Anchor Point how that experience would have to be changed tobecome a 10 and ask your Unconscious to make those changes so that I know whatidea, what its about, how it is relevant, doing so in ways that are for the highest good ofme and of all concerned. Then take a deep breath and blow out, hard.

In other words ask your Unconscious, via your Inner Anchor Point, to change yourexperience of your Communication by saying, into your Inner Anchor Point,Please change my experience of your Communication. Please do that in ways thatare for the highest good of me and of all concerned.

    5. Take a deep breath and repeat steps 3-5 until your rating is at least an 8.

Ive never encountered anyone who was unable to Tune-Up their awareness of theirCommunication to at least an 8 in three cycles if they were able to initially Frame astarting point unless they were encountering another Blocker.

    The Detailed Steps

Here are the detailed steps involved in resolving a blank or a hazy awareness into a clear andunderstandable response.

  • DIALOGUING

    2010 by Stuart A. Lichtman Page 8 of 16

    1. Record exactly what popped into your Conscious Mind immediately after you asked thequestion of your Unconscious.

If that is a fully clear and understandable communication, your Dialoguing has beensuccessful. If, however clear and understandable that communication is, it is not what youwould consider the full or complete answer you require, continue to Dialogue with yourUnconscious until it is.

If the communication seems to be a blank (or nothing) or just some hazy awareness, performthe Color Process to bring the communication to a somewhat clear and understandable form.

Then perform a Tune-Up Process until the communication is fully clear and understandable.

These latter two steps are described below.

    2. If what you got seems to be a blank or a hazy awareness, do the Color Process on thatblank or hazy awareness. That is, frame and record the color of the blank, the liquidvolume of the blank, the temperature of the blank and the sound the blank makes. Ineach case, record what you get.

Of course, all of this is imaginary so guess at the answer if you need to.

Repeat this Color Process until you get at least a modestly clear and understandablecommunication. When you do, rate its clarity and understandability on a 1 to 10 scale where 10equals very clear and consciously understandable.

    Then proceed to step 3.

For example, what if Andrea got a blank when seeking her first memory?

Lets assume that she followed the instructions, focused on her blank and wrote down itscolor (dark gray), liquid volume (2 gallons), temperature (112 degrees Fahrenheit) andsound (an annoying whining).

She again asked for the answer and this time, she got a brighter blank with somethinggoing on but it was still too hazy to figure out.

So she did the Color Process again and, upon completion, she was aware of the generaloutline of an answer but she rated it only a 4 in clarity and completeness.

If you dont get a blank but, rather a communication that is less than a 10 in clarity andunderstandability, also proceed to 3.

  • DIALOGUING

    2010 by Stuart A. Lichtman Page 9 of 16

    3. Do a Tune-Up Process. Tell your Unconscious what you recorded in steps 1 (if at leastinitially modestly clear and understandable) or the final step in 2 (if initially a blank or ahazy awareness), your rating of clarity and understandability and your writtendescription of the communication.

Andrea rated the clarity and understandability of the communication as a 4 after sheclarified it via the Color Process.

Then she thought about how it would have to be changed to become a 10 on the same scaleand recorded what she got. She wrote, Need to understand the specifics of the answer.Need to understand how to proceed.

Then she told her Unconscious what she had gotten by silently reading her rating andwhat had to be changed into her Inner Anchor Point.

    4. Ask your Unconscious, via your Inner Anchor Point, to give you a 10-level experience ofthe communication in terms of clarity and concreteness, invoking the InsuranceStatement. Record what you get.

She immediately said, Please change my awareness of the communication I just describedand please do so in ways that are for the highest good of me and of all concerned.

She took a deep breath and imagined that what she had read into her Inner Anchor Pointand her instruction becoming a part of her.

    5. Repeat 3 and 4 until your rating of clarity and understandability is a 10.

Andrea immediately took a deep breath, forcefully exhaled her breath and observed thecommunication. Now it was much clearer but still only a 7. So she recorded what she nowknew about the communication and repeated steps 3 and 4. Now the clarity andunderstandability were a 10.
