MLM 104 FaceplatesThis guide provides instructions for installing the following Extron MediaLink™

Mounting Options faceplates, which are designed for use with MLC 104 IP PlusMediaLink Controllers.

The MLM 104 L, MLM 104 2GWP, or MLM 104 4GWP faceplate is shippedwith the MLC 104 IP Plus controller, depending on the controller configurationthat is ordered. The rest of the mounting options described below may beordered separately as replacements, or for use with an MLC 104 IP Plus that isordered without a faceplate.

• MLM 104 L — A low-profile, 3.15" H x 6.50" W (8.0 cm H x 16.5 cm W)lectern/furniture-mounting faceplate. This faceplate is required when you aremounting an MLC 104 IP Plus using an optional UCM RAAP or UCM 10X8Pmounting kit.Part numbers: 70-357-02 (black), 70-357-03 (white), 70-357-05 (RAL9010 white)

• MLM 104 LAAP — A low-profile, 3.15" H x 10.00" W (8.0 cm H x 25.40 cm W)lectern/furniture-mounting faceplate with an opening that accommodatesfour single-space AAPsPart numbers: 70-358-02 (black), 70-358-03 (white), 70-358-05 (RAL9010 white)

• MLM 104 4GWP — A four-gang (4.50" H x 8.23" W [11.43 cm H x 20.9 cm W])faceplate with an opening that accommodates four single-space AAPs. It canbe mounted to a mud ring, an Extron Surface Mount Box, an Extron ExternalWall Box, or a standard electrical box.Part numbers: 70-379-02 (black), 70-379-03 (white), 70-379-05 (RAL9010 white)

• MLM 104 6GWP— A six-gang (4.50" H x 11.75" W [11.43 cm H x 29.85 cm W])faceplate with two openings that accommodate four single-space AAPs each(eight AAPs total). It can be mounted to a mud ring, an Extron Surface MountBox, an Extron External Wall Box, or a standard electrical box.Part numbers: 70-355-02 (black), 70-355-03 (white), 70-355-05 (RAL9010 white)


Replacing the MLC 104 IP Plus Faceplate with an MLMFaceplate

1. If your MLC controller is already installed in a wall or furniture, remove thefour screws that attach it to its mounting surface (marked a in the diagrambelow), and lift it out.

2. After the MLC has been removed from the wall or furniture, use a smallPhillips screwdriver to remove the four faceplate attachment screws (markedb in the diagram below), and save them for later use.

CAUTION Do not remove the four faceplate screws while the MLC is installed in awall or furniture, or the controller may fall into the wall or furniture.

3. Lift the faceplate off the MLC 104 IP Plus, as shown below.

4. Align the openings in the new MLM faceplate with the controller’s buttons,knob, and LEDs, then place the new faceplate on the MLC 104 IP Plus.

5. Replace the four screws removed in step 2, and hand tighten them.

6. Install the MLC 104 IP Plus controller in a wall or furniture as appropriate.

TemplatesUse one of the following templates as a guide to measure and mark the hole forinstalling the MLM 104 faceplate with an attached MLC 104 IP Plus. (Refer to yourMLC 104 IP User’s Manual for instructions on preparing the mounting site.)

CAUTION These templates are not to scale. Use the dimensions shown in thetemplates as reference guidelines for measuring and drawing the rectanglethat will be cut out.

The MLC controller requires a depth of at least 2.0" (5.1 cm) inside the wall orfurniture.
