MONDAY, JANUARY 16: FOOD BANK OF SOUTH JERSEY, 11:30 am — 1:30 pm (1501 John Tipton Blvd., Pennsauken NJ) Sort and package food at the Food Bank of South Jersey in Pennsauken. A Jewish Introduction to the New TestamentThursdays, January 12, 19 & 26, 10:30 am

Led by Rabbi Hirsh, we will look at the writings in the New Testament from the perspective of what they tell us about Judaism in the first century of the Common Era — a period of multiple voices about, and visions for, Judaism.

We ask that each family donate a box of nut-free, individually wrapped snacks such as pretzels, raisins or crackers for our mitzvah project.

Join us for a welcoming, interactive Shabbat service and planting activity to promote Jewish Disabilities Awareness Month.

Following lunch, our students will enjoy a Tu B’Shevat project while caregivers will participate in an important and supportive discussion led by prominent psychologist and congregant, Dr. Daniel Gottlieb, who will focus on issues of compassion and “compassion fatigue” in care giving. Open to all those who give care to any person — a child, a parent, a sibling... Dr. Gottlieb will highlight how all families have some special needs, and how caregivers need to nurture themselves.
